Re: Rayman Legends
Hm, I'm pretty sure they do mention the Heart of the World in the Origins saga...
In terms of the Great Protoon and Heart, many just consider them to be the same thing, I believe.

Re: Rayman Legends
Maybe the Glade of Dreams should be considered to be Rayman's World itself, and maybe some games take place on different islands or different places in the world. We all know that first of all, Rayman 1 takes place on one of the Islands of the Archipelago, called the Valley.OldClassicGamer wrote:Well, all games take place in Glade of Dreams.
Rayman 2 then, took place on the main big island, probably Rayman 3 too. And maybe the other games took place on different islands, then it would make sense, because on the official Rayman 2 map, you can see that you basically go through the entire big island. There would be just no space for the worlds we encounter in the other games.
Different Glades of Dreams? No way... No one ever mentioned there would be 2 or more glades, of course including the devs.Stoney! wrote:They could be different glade of dreams, much like the LOTLD in rayman 3 and origins, though unlike the LOTLD, the glade of dreams doesn't change.OldClassicGamer wrote:Well, all games take place in Glade of Dreams.
I don't think so, even if you don't care about there appearance, you should care about where they are located. The Great Protoon is located in the Valley, while the Heart is located in the Big island. This problem solved.Master wrote:Hm, I'm pretty sure they do mention the Heart of the World in the Origins saga...

As for Electoons, i'd rather think there has been happening something with the Great Protoon, since in Rayman 1 the Magician said they gravitate around it. Seeing there were no Electoons when the Heart exploded, nor when André gathered his Hoodlum army, i go with this solution.

Re: Rayman Legends
Hm, perhaps it'd be best if we continue this in the headcanon thread, which I do sometimes feel should be merged with the lore thread.

Anyways, i just read back to the first page and stumbled upon this:

Re: Rayman Legends
At this point, I think Rayman's continuity is up to the player's imagination.

I agree with you in general, although I would only accept RO and RL as "reboots" if there was any official source confirming so.Drolpiraat wrote:To be honest, people here think about these things too much. As if the developers were thinking that the Lums in Rayman Origins were different Lums than those in Rayman 2. As if they were inspired by Rayman 3's LOTLD for anything more than the name for RO's LOTLD.
Some people here try to find continuity for the sake of having a somehow coherent image of the series in their minds, while in reality, there has been very little continuity since Rayman 2 discarded the events from Rayman 1 apart from one little mention in the manual. I think Rayman 3 and Rayman Legends are the only real sequels in the series: to Rayman 2 and Origins respectively. The other games are all reboots.

People outside of fanbase already think that even if no source confirmed or denied it.Haruka wrote:I agree with you in general, although I would only accept RO and RL as "reboots" if there was any official source confirming so.
@Rayrobi perhaps third game will add story. If it gets made because of sales of RL

Re: Rayman Legends
I'd bet money that the 2nd 3rd rayman game will be only supervised by Ancel because hes working on beyond good and evil... again!OldClassicGamer wrote:People outside of fanbase already think that even if no source confirmed or denied it.Haruka wrote:I agree with you in general, although I would only accept RO and RL as "reboots" if there was any official source confirming so.

Re: Rayman Legends
Apart of me doesn't want the next Rayman to be 2D. I love Origins and Legends to death despite my nitpicks with them, but if they go a third game in a row with the same gameplay, it would seem like they're milking it. I want the next Rayman game to be something different, maybe a 3D platformer...(a guy can dream)
Re: Rayman Legends
3D platformer would be more interesting.

Re: Rayman Legends
Yeah, that's what I'm hoping for too. I've always liked 3D Rayman more than 2D, but that's just me.
Re: Rayman Legends
I like R1 best but we had 2D titles recently
I also wonder how does Origins work on Dolphin

Re: Rayman Legends
Nope, Legends/Origins still best Rayman games for me. But yes, I do wish for a 3D title. Maybe with Origins/Legends artstyle?
Re: Rayman Legends
That would look beautiful
Re: Rayman Legends
Just like the Epic E3 2013 trailer. I would love a game like that. Maybe make a game like Super Mario 3D World? Now that's an idea.

A 3D game like the Legends CG trailer would be amazing.

Yeah. It's 4 player CO-OP and fun to playBradandez wrote:Just like the Epic E3 2013 trailer. I would love a game like that. Maybe make a game like Super Mario 3D World? Now that's an idea.
Plus if they add story, it would be perfect.
