Hm, I'm probably not a good shot, I don't think I've ever handled any kind of weapon, closest would be laser blaster games you often see at arcades.

My father's girlfriend (or, the one he had two years ago) lives on a farm in a remote area on Vancouver Island, and guns are allowed there, so I got to try out using a hunting rifle to shoot cans. It's actually not that difficult, though there surely are more factors you have to take into account when trying to hit your target than in a video game, obviously.

In grades 4-6, our elementary school brought us on a four-day camping trip each year, and we had archery every day there. I tried it again recently at a different camp in Kelowna, and as it turns out, thanks to elementary school, I was one of the only people able to hit the smallest balloons.

We had to shoot on some deer made of wood, it looked ridiculous with big retarded eyes, also targets that were pretty far away. I just love how more than half the people couldn't even hold the bow properly so they couldn't shoot the arrow right either.

That guns can be abused in more then one way is something everyone knows, but to say that they are bad devices in general is wrong. If your being attacked by someone who has the intent to kill you and you can't escape but there is a gun, are you gonna use it or die because the gun is a "device from Satan"? Guns have almost certainly saved countless innocent lives so the Devil must be a caring fella.

But in all seriousness, guns can be used in other ways than killing, Em. Some people just like to shoot at targets, hunting and other activities. And also to defend yourself like Keane said, you don't even have to kill whoever is trying to kill you either.

Hm, in my earlier days here, I used to be consistently corrected on my usage of "its" and "it's," it has been more or less rectified, but I still have the odd slip up.

Another thing I've stopped is using "whilst," I tend to say "while" now.
