I haven't really looked at this much until now, but it looks pretty beast. From the videos, I noticed you seem to go for more realistic graphics than cel-shaded graphics, which is interesting.

Well, I'm aiming for a more painterly style now, almost as a natural, unconscious shift over to Rayman's original inspiration from classic French/Celtic folklore.

I think that's a good idea, personally. Seemingly hand-drawn environments will fit the theme of Rayman very well.

When do you think this will be released, and how are you planning on distributing it? Also, how long will a blind playthrough of the final product take, in your opinion? It looks quite interesting.

Maybe in five years or so. Extraordinarily rough guess.

Hopefully via some ambitious method.

Hmm, I hadn't thought about that or measured it according to the current script and level design maps. If you're going straight through from beginning to end with no sidequesting (I mean that in a very broad sense), maybe 15-25 hours? 100%ing the game might take upwards of 50, but that's an extremely rough guess as we haven't even solidified the extents of what you'll be able to do outside just playing through the story yet, though we have some good ideas in the works that we will likely retain.

I can however confirm that there will be another mode you can choose to play through levels on after you've collected all the tings in that level. Essentially, in order to 100% the game, You'll end up having to go through each level at least two or three times; twice due to the secondary mode, and often three times due to some collectibles not being accessible until you have certain powers and whatnot.

Hm. I'll be in college (or somewhere being a fucktard) by then, but that also means a great deal of time and care is going into its development. I'll definitely try out when it comes out. Or possibly before, if you want play-testers.

Steam maybe? That's where I'm going to release the remastered Silent Hill 2, if I somehow make some sort of deal with Konami.

That's respectable time for an indie game. I'd be happy to do a walkthrough of some sort for the release version, if that would help. :)

Just a random question that probably already has a canon answer, but will this game provide some kind of explanation about how Rayman suddenly went from being in The Valley to being in The Glade of Dreams?

Honestly I dunno want to know answers to such questions. I want to keep the suspense and that's exactly that makes me willing to buy games. My brother for example wanted to get GTA V but after watching a complete Let's Play about it, he doesn't feel like getting it anymore because he knows everything about the game already and it just doesn't make fun anymore to play it :( .

Depends on who you are, I often lap up spoilers and gameplay like no tomorrow, and I only get put off if I know the gameplay wouldn't be to my tastes anyway. I've seen plenty of videos on X and Y, and I'd still get it, likewise for many Ratchet and Clank games and so on.

Yup, of course. Such obvious matters like these will be fully addressed.

Sure, if you can match the quality of our artist's designs:

Lol, give him 10 years and he will probably get close to that if he draws everyday.

Going to redraw that fanart from two months ago ( this I mean. ) Because there are several things on it that bugs the hell out of me.

Hm, looking at it again, the one on the right reminds me of the Chozo a little, due to the humanoid bird-like design it has.

They remind me of the Space Pirates from Ratchet and Clank.

Are you talking about fanart or suddenly reaching the artistic level of that artist?

Shit, that is the first time I see a concept of the Graveslaves ever and I'm very much amazed. This is awesome! Especially the left one seems like a great crossing between the well-known pirates and the design of Rayman 1 and 3: Crazy but serious in some way. I think that it really has the right dose of a unique identity like the pirates had in Rayman 2. This is definitely some incredible work, but I really can't find the right superlatives to describe it. :D

I really have to thank the artist for this amazing concept, thanks a lot!
