Re: The Oddworld Topic
I'm glad you took our advice, but Exoddus is even better than Oddysee.
Re: The Oddworld Topic
You are really lucky to have it. Really nice postcard.Haruka wrote:Sharing this to Oddworld fans here that might enjoy what I have here:

This was back in Christmas 2005/06 when I was a member in the official Oddworld fanclub. I got this Christmas Stranger's Wrath themed postcard with Alf's real handwritted signature. I have this religiously saved in my junks.

Re: The Oddworld Topic
I'm a fan of Oddworld. However, I could only vote for Abe's Oddysee since that's the only one I've played. So far at least.
Re: The Oddworld Topic
Yesterday night, after going out from the school, I went to the bookshop close to it (the oldest from the world: http://www.guinnessworldrecords.com/wor ... -bookshop- ) and I bought this month's issue of Retro Gamer, to read in the train trips. It features an interview to Lenning and is about the Oddworld franchise. I might scan the pages later.
Re: The Oddworld Topic
Oh please do it when you have time
Lenning is one of my favourite game designers.

Re: The Oddworld Topic
I actually finished to read the interview last week but I am with problems in the scanner so it will take more time before I can show up the pages.
Re: The Oddworld Topic
Ok, I can wait
Re: The Oddworld Topic
Sorry for being late, but as I promised, here's the scan of the 6-page interview that Retro Gamer did to Lorne concerning Oddworld. I don't know how, Retro Gamer points Beyond Good and Evil as a 1992 game. Nice research. Now I like Lorne even more since in the interview he clearly shows that he hates politicians and bankers. We're already two! Here's the interview:

Seen it already and I am super hyped for this
Re: The Oddworld Topic
Wow, I can't wait to play this game in my Christmas holidays.
Wait, they are doing an Android version of Stranger's Wrath? I wonder how it could be playable on these devices, knowing the nature of the game.

Re: The Oddworld Topic
I know it would be playable on XPERIA Play because of buttons that look like from PlayStation controller. As for other devices, it will most likely be hard to control like Prince Of Persia Warrior Within. I remember PoP WW later got removed from store because it was like impossible to be completed on many phones due to touch controls and game being same like Console version.

Re: The Oddworld Topic
They've put up a couple more screenshots. My favourite so far is this one, since it's just masterful! They made it look more cinematic, while still managing to perfectly retain all the necessary visual feedback, and the temple feels even more massive than in the original.
Also, there seem to be a couple of locations and situations that are new to the remake. I wonder what's up with Abe walking on the rope. Could that be a playable thing, or is it just a level transition?

Re: The Oddworld Topic
Nearly everything nowadays is solely about making a quick buck. That, and video games tend to have a "follow the leader" mentality - one extremely successful game comes out, nine thousand clones come later. That, and in general many don't seem to know how to create true gems anymore, sadly.OldClassicGamer wrote:Why can't more games be like this?
