Re: Rayman 1
It seemed good enough for me though! The only problem I really had was the bad case of sweaty hands I would often get playing it.
Re: Rayman 1
I think you'll actually have quite the adventure when playing the Saturn/Playstation version, as Rayman Advance is based on the PC port.

Hm, I wouldn't mind giving the Jaguar version a try, actually. That rainbow text looks pretty darn attractive.

Re: Rayman 1
Yeah, if I was to play a console version of Rayman next, I'd probably pick the Saturn one simply because it picture quality it gives out on my TV is amazing. I'm not sure if it's the scart cable or the console itself doing it but man it's great!

The Jaguar version is really wierd. You can feel the early beta-ness all over it. I'd love to own a Jaguar and a copy of the game. My first act would be to get good quality rips of the music for RaytunesTHEdragon wrote:Hm, I wouldn't mind giving the Jaguar version a try, actually. That rainbow text looks pretty darn attractive.

Re: Rayman 1
Saturn and Playstation 1 share the same resolution, it is just the Scart cable. Scart RGB cables consider to be the best video signal for retro gaming. But beware, there are some shitty Scart cables around there, that gives only mono audio and composite video. The yellow plug (composite) however is shit! If you want to make your PS1 look good on HDTVs you need to get for it a Scart cable as well. PS2's however support a better resolution and if you need to get the full potential out of it, get component cables (Red, Green, Blue, another Red and Yellow plugs).Electoon wrote:Yeah, if I was to play a console version of Rayman next, I'd probably pick the Saturn one simply because it picture quality it gives out on my TV is amazing. Ahh, this, I would love to get my hands on that soundtrack. (Emulators make it sound freaky, though, apparently!)Electoon wrote: The Jaguar version is really wierd. Re: Rayman 1
Yeah, Jaguar emulators are getting better by the day at doing it, but it still flips out alot makes the music sound highly wierd in places, particually if you have a slower computer. But considering the Jaguar codebase makes no sense in the first place, you've got to give it to the people that are working on the emulator for getting this far...
Also, I don't even have an HDTV. All the televisions at my house are still CRTs

Re: Rayman 1
I see only 1 way, and that will be expensive as hell: Get a real Jaguar with Rayman and get a AV cable for it (which will be also really expensive). Combine the audio cables into a standart 3,5mm jack headphone plug and plug that in your mic input of your pc. And then start recording the sound via Microphone/Sound recorder. If there is anyone who knows how to get to the files inside the rom, that would be muuuuch cheaper.THEdragon wrote:Ahh, this, I would love to get my hands on that soundtrack. Yeah, that was the plan if I ever had a Jaguar, but I think my only chance to obtain one for decent money would be during a random encounter at a bootfairemshomar wrote: I see only 1 way, and that will be expensive as hell: Get a real Jaguar with Rayman and get a AV cable for it (which will be also really expensive). Re: Rayman 1
Not only you need to pay a fortune for a failed bad console, you also need to pay for uberpriced extra cables to see the console, because RF can't be capture (except you buy modulator but still ass sucking graphics) and RF signal sucks ass. But there is light in this tunnel: consolegoods.co.uk is the first one who is selling Jaguar Scart RGB cables for a decent price!Electoon wrote:Yeah, that was the plan if I ever had a Jaguar, but I think my only chance to obtain one for decent money would be during a random encounter at a bootfair
Re: Rayman 1
This is why I try to avoid Ebay like the plague whenever possible, if people think that something is rare, they'll put it up there for ridciously high priced money, and if they don't, all the bidders act as though it is and it becomes impossible to pay for these things. The annoying thing, this often happens to things that aren't even that rare to begin with...

Thank you! It's not centered around drama, but does contain a healthy dose of it. And there's an extremely sad part, but it doesn't last too long.THEdragon wrote:You're writing a Rayman 1 fanfiction? And a potentially sad/dramatic one at that?MisterDark'sFanClub wrote:
x) Do you really like the way I think? (Sorry, I don't have the best memory.)
As a matter of fact, I'm using that "Mister Dark destroys the mountain" theory in a Rayman 1 fanfiction I'm writing. (So no one steals it, without my permission; it's mine!) XD
Yes, I really do like the way you think!!!
Spoiler:
A main character dies (not the main character, a main character).
I was tempting back to The Dragon, by the way. The quote button wasn't working.

I am REALLY looking forward to your fanfiction! I certainly crave a bit of Rayman 1 fanfiction, and some sadness in one.
