Re: Cartoon Shows
I watched it indeed, it was intense, and there were obviously some huge changes made to the world of Avatar in that finale, but it ended on a high note, methinks, indeed, I do crave the next season to know where this will go.

Naah, not an MLP fellow, it's not to my tastes, to each their own, eh?
Re: Cartoon Shows
I know most people don't enjoy FiM, but it's cool. This Day of the Doctor is rather interesting, it even got its own Google doodle.

Re: Cartoon Shows
Yeah, I was salivating all over it when I saw it, neat tribute from Google indeed.
Anyways, let's not get off track, this is the cartoon thread, yes? So, I'm assuming you're as excited for this new season as I am for Doctor Who, hm?

Re: Cartoon Shows
Indeed, though not as much as I was last year. My "hype" has grown stale over the months.

Re: Cartoon Shows
Hm, while I've been hyping all over the forums for the last couple of weeks, I see.
So, anything in particular you look forward to about the season?

Re: Cartoon Shows
I haven't really looked into it, but this season is suppose to have more episodes than last years, so that's good to know.

Re: Cartoon Shows
Ah yes, the episode list, I remember feeling kinda disappointed that the Beast Hunters season of Transformers: Prime was going to be half the size of the first seasons.
Re: Cartoon Shows
Enough ponies for now. Last night's WOY was okay for me. I didn't really enjoy it as other episodes.
Re: Cartoon Shows
Hey again. Here is my weekly dose of stuff to say.
- I'm especially hyped for the next season of Adventure Time. A statement from storyboarder Jesse Moynihan:
And from Finn's VA Jeremy Shada:Yeah. I don’t want to say too much or raise weird expectations, but for me, the latter part of S5 and Season 6 might contain some of our best episodes to date. It’s stuff that I’m really proud of. So anyway, that’s just my point of view. We’ll see if the public takes to it.
Literally dancing right now, you guys. Finn's backstory and family! That is the number one thing I need!Q: It seems like the show is only getting darker with time.
A: Yeah, which I never thought would happen. From the beginning, I never thought it could get weirder. And we have some really dark stuff coming up.
Q: Speaking of stuff coming up, you said at NYCC that we’ll be learning more about Finn’s backstory?
A: Oh yes. We might see some of Finn’s family… or something like that.
(http://hollywoodlife.com/2013/10/21/adv ... interview/) - I watched the season finale of The Legend of Korra. Nice visuals and story overall, but Unalaq is a freaking cartoony, generic LOL EVIL villain. Amon was a cooler guy.
- Steven Universe's new episode was creepy as hell with that Frybo guy. This means that at this point I am 100 % convinced that the censors of Cartoon Network sleep on their jobs all the time. No really, that new AT episode has a scene with a sex tape in it and it's not even subtle.
- Wander Over Yonder shows even more of the heartwarming friendship between Wander and Sylvia. I'm just wondering what kind of continuity this show will have in the future... will things that happened before be brought up again? But hey, the important thing is that the next episode features Aziz Ansari as a quest voice!

Re: Cartoon Shows
Ooh, some interesting stuff regarding AT.
Regarding Unalaq, I think he had a point regarding the spirits and the like, his means seemed rather generic, but his cause seemed compelling, to each their own (but you have to admit, that battle in Republic City was pretty damn awesome).
Steven Universe is also warming up with me, I really like its theme, I'm interested to see where it goes.

Re: Cartoon Shows
One new animated show on Adult Swim called "Rick & Morty". A hilarious show, in my words. It's a sci-fi comedy mixed with some dark humor (not much from what I've seen though).

Re: Cartoon Shows
Meh, this week has been rather bare, there's not been any new episodes for the cartoons I follow.
Re: Cartoon Shows
It has been some time for me too since I last watched Cartoon or even Anime.

Re: Cartoon Shows
Robot Chicken's definitely an Adult Swim classic. By far the best thing they've published, though the 5th season was pure ass, if you'll mind the expression.Skaarj wrote:these days,i decided to watch an classic of adult swim, which still is there,Aqua teen hunger force anyone?
In other news, I went on a Danny Phantom binge over the past 3 days and watched all 53 episodes in about 2 seperate sittings. Actually a really decent show honestly, and manages to be quite funny in places while also retaining a fairly well-progressed storyline. God damn is the father an idiot. I couldn't sleep at all on New Year's Day so I basically spent the whole night watching it. No regrets, honestly.
Oh, and I also looked up Rick and Morty. It's actually hilarious, and now I'm a fan for life. (It's Adult Swim too and hence kinda links more with the aforementioned comment by Skaarj.

Re: Cartoon Shows
I've been having trouble watching shows for the last several months since the Internet has morphed my attention span to ass, but Steven Universe has recently caught my attention and I'd be more than willing to see more. I've already known about the show for awhile - before it had officially aired - and though I was hesitant at first, especially after they took a shit on the artstyle, I practically liked it from day one. Though despite that it managed to fly over my head because I had been too preoccupied with other things (cough, Internet) and I've missed a bit of it. I forced myself to watch it a bit more after a friend of mine spoke highly of it though, and after watching it a few more times I've begun to love it.
Onto another topic though, I've missed many, many episodes of Adventure Time over the past year or two thanks to my Internet and video game obsessions and I'm still kicking myself over it. I'll get back to it later though and see what I've missed. From GN's post though, I'm already hyped up though and I'm willing to look back at episodes I've missed and stick with new ones as well. Even though I loved the weird and carefree, innocent atmosphere of the earlier days of the show, I've honestly loved where the show has been headed. I've always been a fan of the darker, serious side of media so it always excites me when shows, movies, or games go down the dark and possibly intelligent side, mixed in with a stronger backstory. That being said, I also love how Adventure Time manages to be consistent, mixing in both the strangeness and lightheartedness of the prior episodes with a dark tone as well in the latter seasons; the show manages to appeal to nearly everyone now.
