Yeah I agree, I just mean from the standpoint of it being a ratchet and clank game so those who see the movie would recognize the brand. I of course want a brand new story and everything :P

So, release a new game, and use the recognition the movie might potentially create to drive sales of said new game?

Ah, that could work, though what of potential story confusion?

I guess that couldn't really be avoided unfortunately, we just have to wait and see how much the movie will differ from the original game. Hopefully we get a new trailer sometime in the near future!

Seeing as it's not going to be around for some time, we're probably in for a bit of a wait.
I sincerely hope the movie does well though, R&C is a brilliant game franchise, and the movie should reflect that.

I heard the films going to be released early- mid 2015 so realistically, the earliest we will see a trailer is probably the middle of next year. We could potentially see another teaser in-between now and then though. I'm so glad Insomniac and the writers from the games are behind the screenplay. If it was rainmaker handling the writing too, I'd be extremely skeptical, from what we've seen their animation is excellent though and I'm glad they're primarily focusing on that aspect.

Indeed, I think I might have mentioned it before, but Rainmaker do have quite some experience, as I believe they worked on Beast Wars in the 90s, which is one of my favourite Transformers cartoons.

Since Master wanted me to say what I think so far of my recent purchase of Ratchet & Clank: Into The Nexus, I shall say right here.

So far pretty good, I haven't played much into it, but either I became rusty from the older games or the default difficulty mode is a bit more difficult than the precious games. Not a bad thing, just more added challenge of skill, and me needing to get used to the new weapons of choice. As always, that awesome sense of humor is found in the games! I love it!

Hm, so it's pretty much classic R&C with its own twists as always, ahh, no biggie, it's a grand thing in itself going back to classic gameplay after All 4 One nd Q-Force.

I haven't really touched All 4 One, despite owning it.

In any case, I am glad to see new R&C games out after A Crack In Time. That along with Tools of Destruction have been my favorites. :)

If only more franchises that were awesome were getting new games...
Insomniac Games proved that it is possible to keep franchise alive for longer time even if it's not Mario or Sonic.

I find some series have a better chance than others depending on circumstances and their gameplay formulae, those whose formulae can be adapted, like Mario, Sonic, Rayman and Ratchet, tend to have a better chance, as it means they can retain their iconic aspects, but still feel fresh. Some series end up being way too formulaic and end up getting boring after time, hence why I'd wish that if there were a Crash reboot, for instance, that they just don't rehash elements of old and give a new spin on it as Origins gave a new spin on Rayman.

Just got the platinum trophy in Ratchet and Clank 2, without a doubt the hardest one so far. Farming the Raritanium in the frozen wastes was beyond frustrating and tedious, what with those Yetis that continuously spawn in hordes. I was thankful I didn't have to buy and upgrade every single mega/ultra upgrade though. I'm going to try for the Gladiator platinum during the week, however I heard there was a trophy glitch which apparently makes one trophy unattainable under certain circumstances, which I really hope isn't true!

I never bothered getting all trophies or achivements in any game.
Surprisingly, I did got all achivements on my Xbox Live in some games before hacking console. I should try to get in some game 100% trophies on PS3.

Let's not forget Legend of Zelda, as well. It's still going.

That was more just general series who've been at it, of course there are plenty more than what I said, but it was more just making a point how some series are made to last longer than others.

Plus I can't think of any other series at the moment.

I haven't honestly played any Spyro game since I had one of the games on the PS1.
