I actually checked the sources, and nowhere do they mention the episodes with Brian's name in them. I think someone just put that in there, and it has yet to be edited out.

-One of my favourite animated characters was permanently killed off in last night's episode, and the episode was just so...underwhelming on so many levels, especially considering the title. Felt like there should of been more to it. This is coming from someone who had basically stopped watching the show for a while, partly due to hearing it got stale beyond the box sets I watched.

I agree in that none of it seemed truly genuine. While they can come close, it seems they're too afraid to go all out with the emotions thing without hamming it up to some extent. For me, the most impactful point of the show, the only time it actually touched me on the level it was aiming to was when you could hear Stewie crying in the background near the end, that three seconds actually got me, as it sounded like something you'd never normally hear Stewie do. The main problem I found throughout was that some of McFarlane's voices seem too restrictive on their emotions, and that it's difficult to take Peter seriously when he sounds sad. Stewie works a bit better, but again, none of it sounded genuine, most of it was rather forced. Of all the episodes, I think the most well-executed on an emotional level was the one where Meg finally reached her breaking point with the family always abusing her, and a lot of it really is due to Mila Kunis' very, very convincing ability to sound angry/upset, it alone sounds real enough to make you shiver. That, and they really went all-out in every other regard as well.

Mind you, as far as this one goes, it was okay. They didn't do a terrible job with it, but it is disappointing that none of it felt real, it all felt like it was being viewed under some emotionally restrictive filter.

The most impactful parts were actually seeing Brian on the bed in the veterinary clinic, and watching Stewie's arms shiver at his deathbed and at the funeral.

The main problem for me is that everything felt really brushed over, and like the characters did very little reflecting in the end. And while I like Vinny, he's not main character material, let alone a Brian replacement. Then again, it may be too early to judge regarding the former statement.

But in general, I expected them to pay more tribute to Brian due to the episode title. I think it would be better if Brian died at the very end of the episode, and the last few minutes of it were Stewie and Brian reflecting. Introducing Vinny so soon was just unnecessary. We don't get any clue as to what happened during that month between his death and Vinny's introduction.

Regardless of it all, and despite what I've already said earlier, a part of me believes they will bring him back anyway, and that the whole thing would be for publicity's sake. Killing him off was a bad move (even if it did create a fairly poignant scene), but bringing him back would be even worse, and I wouldn't bother with the show beyond that point if it happened.

Not sure if it's for publicity's sake. Didn't the creator himself state that he's already more then done with the show and that this is pretty much just a smooth move kill off some viewers?

That's another possibility I considered, but we don't know whether or not he actually comes back yet. So only time will tell.

And yeah, Seth is sick of the show, but I feel like Brian would be the last character he would kill off.
