Hey, just a heads up for any video archivists, I just saw a Brian Blessed voiced advert for Rayman Legends on Cartoon Network.

Dracula world DLC? Ubisoft wouldn't let it happen... I guess? I don't know, but they think Rayman Legends wasn't profitable at all. And we all know what happened to Zombi U.

You are saying DLC might be cancelled?

DLC is still totally foreseeable for a game like Legends. Especially if DLC was based off of cut content that they still have assets for. It wouldn't cost that much to make at all (there would be a distribution fee, but it's not like it's a physical product). Legends itself was a low budget title as it was.

I'm not saying I expect anything at this point. But there is some hope.

Another key in 20,000 Lums was the idea of a narrative progression, which isn't usually a major part of Rayman titles. The story is told through gameplay, with a sequence of eight levels that brings players back to the same spot where they started.
I KNEW IT.

This is why I prefer Legends to Rayman 2, in a way.

So those little mushrooms that can contain Lums, do we call those "Lum Shrooms"?

For those who are interested, Michel Ancel has been live for nearly 2 hours now here: http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x1594q ... videogames
He's giving a presentation about videogames in general, in French. So yeah, a lot of people here probably won't understand a thing.

Is there any word of an English translation? I'd love to watch that sometime.

It's probably not going to be translated. It's getting interesting at the moment though (they're going to talk about RRR, probably they're going to mention its past as a platformer...) so if they say anything interesting I'll post & translate that part here. :)

EDIT -> Rayman 4 was going to be an action/adventure game for PS2. When they were told to turn it into a Wii game, they had no idea what to do with the Wii controller (I guess they weren't quite happy with what they showed in that E3 trailer?), so when they were under time pressure because a journalist was going to interview them, they just made up a bunch of minigames. And because it was all so silly, the journalist really liked it and that became the final game.
He's talking about Rayman Legends and UbiArt now. Hope he'll accidentally mention something about the future of Rayman...
EDIT 2 -> Nope, he didn't. But if I got that right, I do think he all but confirmed BG&E2 for current-gen (PS4/etc) consoles. :)

I don't expect this, so I wouldn't call this a request, but if anyone could translate it fully someday, and have the video saved and subbed, it'd be wonderful. I'm sure it'd be a great addition to the video archive, and I'm personally very interested in this, and I'm sure others would be.

Hm, so BG&E2 is breaking daylight? Hm, should the day come where it does roll of the shelves, I will be most ecstatic indeed. As for Rayman, well...I can wait, I love the series, but if Ancel feels the need to move to something different, then I'll respect that.

At this point in time, I don't think the Rayman franchise needs Ancel. He's like the Yuji Naka of Rayman. But like Yuji Naka, he can just pass on his legacy. The rest of the recent Rayman team are excellent at what they do too.

Hm, I know Rayman 3 wasn't wholly to Ancel's tastes, but I think it stands as a pretty decent Rayman title, there are some aspects which could do with refining, but all in all, it does make a point that Rayman could move on from Ancel's creative hand.

I disagree, Ancel is the only one who can do series a justice in my opinion.

To each their own, the fan projects and the ideas that have stemmed from this very fanbase, forgetting the various competent minds at Ubi, are convincing enough to me.

Well, when I was saying Ancel can only do series justice, I didn't count fan projects - just official companies and people. Fan project such as Rayman 1.5 are really amazing and I would like that one to become official game.

I'll repeat about Rayman 3 also, I know it's not the best to many, but I've got to agree with Brawler on what he said before, it had potential. And I honestly think, had Rayman 3 been given more time to ripen (and perhaps the humour involved could've been changed, but that's a matter of taste), it could have very well been up there and perhaps even surpass Rayman 2. It had its moments, some very nice continuity nods and winks, and it played good for the most part. And I must say, its combat remains my absolute favourite in the entire series.
