I'm currently making a placeholder "box art" for my Sonic game as part of an assignment. It doesn't necessarily reflect the "look" of the actual game, but just presents the idea of it.

I have 2 Sonic games in my Steam Inventory that I can gift. Sonic 3 And Knuckles and Sonic 3D Blast. I am thinking of making giveaway contest. But before I open such topic, I am just asking to know how many people would be interested to participate.

I already have those on Steam, so I unfortunately won't have any use for them.

Hm, I might be game, depending on the needs, it'd be nice to play something on my machine.
Ooh, you made a Game Cover for a Sonic game, hm? I remember an old graphics class in Year 10 where the task was to remake game covers also, I did LittleBigPlanet 2 if memory serves, pity all that stuff is gone.

I'm going to just copy my Tumblr post about my game here:

Image
This is a PURELY CONCEPTUAL box art I made for a Sonic fan game I am making as part of a college assignment. It’s not what the final box art would look like (especially since this game isn’t being made for 3DS - I was an idiot, and the size I was making this for did not reflect the box art size for a home console game’s box!). But it gives an idea of what the game is.

Really, we shouldn’t be getting the box art assignment until the end of the year. But development on this should start shortly after Christmas. Then I will have a demo of sorts to present as a “full game” for my assignment. If I, and other people, like the project enough, I will continue it beyond my assignment, in my free time, until I have something that feels like a complete game.

I’m planning on using UDK to make this, along with a UDK package called “Sonic GDK”. I’ll post development screenshots and videos over the course of development when I feel I have something to present. Also, I will not be able to accept help on this until after I have the assignment version done (a.k.a the demo). Until then, I am bound by the limitations of my assignment, one of which being that this has to be a mostly solo effort (my class mates and I can help each other a bit, but most work has to be solo). After that though, I will surely be looking for help on this, should I decide to continue it.

I hope I can provide an enjoyable experience in the end! And hopefully this won’t join the heap of other unfinished Sonic fan games!

Sorry for the double post, but Lost World Wii U was patched!

Here's the changelog (this was posted on Sega Blogs and taken down, as it may have been posted early):
Today, we are pleased to announce that a new patch for the Wii U version of Sonic Lost World has just gone live, and is available for free download!

This patch adds a number of improvements and changes. Please find the full list of updates below:

Gameplay Updates:

• Collecting 100 rings will now grant the player an extra life.
• In the event of a Game Over, we have doubled the amount of lives the player will begin with when continuing. (From 5 to 10)
• The Indigo Asteroid, Crimson Eagle, Orange Rocket, and Black Bomb Color Powers can now be controlled using the analog stick and buttons.
• Fixed a rare graphical issue that would sometimes appear during the pinball section of the Frozen Factory casino area.

Additional Updates:

• When completing the NiGHTMARE DLC, users will be notified that they can re-play it after scoring 100,000 points.
• Items will now appear on the world map.

We hope you all enjoy the new updates to the game. As always, thank you for your feedback!

It actually addresses some of the major complaints this game had, I wonder if it will actually change some opinions?

The 100 Rings giving you life is late coming - I reached 99 lives a long time ago.

Other than that, this is nice. And further proves how experimental this game is.
I'll play around to see if anything else was changed.

It is a bit late for new reviews sadly but I think this game was unfairly criticised way too much.

Is there a date for when the patch releases? I turned on the game and it didn't show up.

Whoa, SEGA listened to quite a few of the complaints I heard, and they brought back the life mechanic, excellent indeed.

No console/PC releases so far for Retro Engine Sonic 1/Sonic 2. If we do get one, it won't be until Sonic 2 has already been mobile for a while, and they already have patched what they needed to.

And there were many roars of joy and happiness, a grand forgotten zone was birthed once again.

This is very good indeed, I do look forward to seeing how it compares to the prototype versions.
