Re: Boy or Girl name
I asked my mother what she'd've (?) called me if I was a boy, and she said Michaelangelo.

Re: Boy or Girl name
Something with an 'A' or two at the start. Then I can be first alphabetically. Which isn't very useful, now that I think of it. I can't think of many scenarios that even use alphabetical listings. What if I want to come last? Maybe I should choose a name with a 'Z' at the start...
There aren't many good female versions of my name. Perplexing? Partially?

People already name their children after movie characters. I wouldn't be surprised if people are already naming children after video game characters.spiraldoor wrote:I find myself appalled by the idea of naming a child after a popular videogame character, especially one whose name is highly recognisable.

Robbie Williams named his daughter as Zelda since he is a major fan of the Legend of Zelda game series.spiraldoor wrote:I find myself appalled by the idea of naming a child after a popular videogame character, especially one whose name is highly recognisable.
For those who are doubting:
I think if I ever had a son I would name him Raymond.
Re: Boy or Girl name
That is actually the LAST thing I'd think about.MLII wrote:I asked my mother what she'd've (?) called me if I was a boy, and she said Michaelangelo.![]()

Re: Boy or Girl name
I WOULD HAVE BEEN CALLED JOSHUA AAAARRRGGGHHH
You know, there's a book that has a whole list of videogame character names in one chapter, like CRASH, SPYRO, KLONOA etc. They didn't mention Rayman in it thank god. I only know of this because we actually had it at one point.

Crash, Spyro, Klonoa. =/
I have no idea why someone would curse his/her child with those names.
Zelda is somewhat decent though.
Alyx from HL2 is also a decent videogame name for a girl, but I can't come up with more.

Re: Boy or Girl name
Given that a bot bumped this topic whose post I have now deleted, I might as well update my thoughts here:
Alice and Myra are probably my favourite female names, both of which I could also associate well with myself. Zoey and Quinn come close as well.
Interestingly, I learned of the name Myra from it being the name of someone in my grade 4-5-6 class. She was made fun of often, and as much as I hate to admit it, I did join in during fourth grade a bit, though it wasn't genuine, and the following two years I made up for it by trying to become friends with her; I felt terrible about it, and I honestly still do. Now I think that Myra is one of the most beautiful names I've ever heard.

Re: Boy or Girl name
I just asked my father what I would have been called if I was born as a girl: Mariam
To be honest, I don't like to be called like this, so luckly I was born as a boy.

Can't remember the exact name, but if were a girl I likely would have had a name starting with "A".

Re: Boy or Girl name
Probably Christopher.
Personally, I'd go with Alexander, Daniel, Gabriel, or Rider.
Hm, my boy alias should be Rider Matthews.
Disclaimer: my last name is.not Matthews.
