Hey, come now, it is popular like fuck for a reason! I love that song, despite the riff of a thousand songs.
You just listed the reasons why songs get popular and played everywhere, why are you surprised it's addictive?Dark Lum Lord said:Such a simple and repetitive song with simple and repetitive lyrics, and simple and repetitive riffs and yet it's so addictive.

Aye, I seemed to have forgotten that nearly every song ever that's been popular has been repetitive, with some exceptions. Speaking of "Smells Like Teen Spirit" though, one time I told the bus driver to change the station to a rock one and that song had been playing and I remember everyone was looking at me with a near horrified expression. With the exception of sixth graders some of whom actually knew the song and weren't uptight.Rulez said:You just listed the reasons why songs get popular and played everywhere, why are you surprised it's addictive?Dark Lum Lord said:Such a simple and repetitive song with simple and repetitive lyrics, and simple and repetitive riffs and yet it's so addictive.
Since when does this only apply to 'modern music' though?MisterDark'sFanClub said:Exactly. Look up 7 Problems With Modern Music by Messy Mondays on YouTube. It'll explain the riff of pretty much every song ever.
