Passing the Woods of Light without collecting any Lums or breaking any Cages will probably be impossible, unless you can hack yourself past that level - or maybe hack-reset it to 0 (which might effectively give you the possibility to start the whole game anew from within the Prison Ship cell...?).
Some Cages are crucial - Teensies that open the Spiral Doors for you are the ending to half, if not more, of the levels in R2.
Aw snap... I forgot some cages are required in R2. And in the Woods of Light and in some other places (at the start of a mask level, when you meet with the Teensies in their council chamber), a certain amount of yellow lums is required to progress...

Hmm... editing savegame files will probably be necessary... the R2 savegame system is unusual. Every savegame slot in the menu is linked to a folder with a ton of .SAV files in it. Those files are really small - when I open them with notepad I simply see the word "SWVUT" in most cases - and each file is linked to an area (they have names like "Jail_10_0.sav" and "Water_10_0"). I hope I can figure out how to hack-reset scores via savegames. If all else fails, I will simply offer one savegame per level - that's guaranteed to work.

For completion's sake, I'd say yes, but in my own mind, I'd say that doesn't make sense - why would you want a savegame in which everything is reset to 0, except for the one-time events? I'd love to be able to chain boss battles, or redo the Pirate Mines over and over. Some of the one-time events in this game are priceless, and I'm sad they've been rendered one-time events.
Alright, I'll include all one-time events in the savegames. However, I'm not sure how the game handles the one-time events... maybe it looks at the presence of certain savegame files to determine if it's a first time visit, and if that's the case I cannot provide a single savegame with every one-time event in it. Again, in that case I'll offer individual savegames - one for each event.

Shouldn't it be possible to create a single save that allows access to every level in the original game as if you were playing it for the first time? It's possible to skip Mr Sax's Hullabaloo and Mr Skops's Stalactites via in-game sequence breaking, and these skips are preserved in the save file. Doesn't this mean there must be a way to edit the file to similarly set all the other levels to "unplayed"?

Wouldn't that basically be the same thing as using the unlock-all-levels cheat?

I just checked the savegame and I see what you mean. The Mr Sax and Mr Skops fights are skipped - the other ones are not. I'm afraid there's no easy way to get around that problem. See, I didn't use in-game sequence breaking to skip those bosses. I used the winmap cheat to pass most areas. For most bosses, this worked fine. I was dropped into the boss arena, quickly typed "winmap" and then won the level. When using winmap, the level state remains "unplayed" - that's why you can fight most bosses again.

However, the Mr Sax and Mr Skops boss fights work differently. Both boss fights are actually spread out over two level parts - first you play through a chase sequence, then you fight the boss. The problem here is that in those chase sequences, winmap doesn't work. I had to play through the chase sequences myself. I was able to use winmap when the next part (the actual fight) started - but apparently the level state had already been set to "played" by then. Because I can't cheat my way past the chase part, there's no way to keep it at "unplayed".

(Actually, the reason why the Betilla parts are not included in the main savegame is because when I used winmap on those parts, Rayman wouldn't receive the powers and it would be impossible to progress through later levels. So I had to play through the Betilla parts instead of cheating my way through them, resulting in their state being set to "played".)

The savegame seems to be encrypted... no easy way to edit that either. The unlock-all-levels cheat sets all states to "played" if I remember correctly, so that wouldn't help. The only way to fight Mr Sax and Mr Skops seems to be to download the level-specific savegames for those levels; the level that savegame leads to is always unplayed.

But if you skip Mr Sax and Mr Skops - not with winmap, but with the sequence breaking you were talking about - doesn't the level state remain "unplayed"? Re-reading your post, I'm confused. You said "these skips are preserved in the save file" - were you actually talking about the fact Mr Sax and Mr Skops are not encountered in my save? Remember, I didn't use those skips, but cheats. Then you asked whether it was possible to "similarly set all the other levels to unplayed" but all the other levels are unplayed (except for the Betilla parts). So... I'm confused :fou2:

Indeed, it's odd how Robotic Teensie disappears like that, especially since he's turned out to be quite a contributor, and has certainly amassed a well deserved amount of respect and a good reputation here.

Maybe he is just very busy. I sent him a private message. Problem is that for some reason, email notifications stopped working so unless he visits this site, he is not gonna know I sent him message.

Likewise, though if it worked initially and doesn't anymore, then you'd probably best contact Humch about the problem.

He hasn't visited since August looking at the stats on his profile, so it's to be expected.
Anyone know how to contact him through other means?

He did not leave any personal info such as MSN or Skype on his profile so the only thing is if Admins tell us with what mail he registred so we try to search his Skype or Steam with that mail, but maybe that is not good idea for privacy reasons.

Is a Rayman Legends save file necessary? I can share mine.
