Re: Rayman 2
Just listened to it now, it's just Sonic Colours' game over music with a bit of sprucing from what I can hear.

Re: Rayman 2
Well, it's probably liked so much because of the fact that almost all of the game has a 2D camera. Because 2D games are definitely awesome and they should never try anything else.Hoodcom wrote:Hmm, how IS Sonic Color's anyway? I never played the game.

Re: Rayman 2
I never did care for their games beyond Sonic Adventures 1 and 2. They just didn't feel the same, so I never bothered looking into any of the newest stuff, such as Sonic Colors.

Re: Rayman 2
My my, such a bitter tone.
While I'll admit that Colours definitely isn't as balanced when it comes to a 2D - 3D balance, it's still very well done and refined what Sonic Unleashed started, though be prepared, it does have some challenging platforming as well.

Bitter? No, just wasn't to my liking. I suppose I best check in on Sonic Colors and see how it is.

Nah, that wasn't directed to you, it was to Rayman fan2000.
Re: Rayman 2
Never played Sonic Colors, but I see it's almost exactly the same. Still reminds me of Rayman 2 for some reason though.Master wrote:Just listened to it now, it's just Sonic Colours' game over music with a bit of sprucing from what I can hear.

Re: Rayman 2
Hm, to each their own, I don't really get a Rayman 2 vibe from it to be honest.
Re: Rayman 2
Never reminded me of R2.
Re: Rayman 2
You went and piqued my interest so I just went and played through the egg cruiser mode.
Sonic's end music is some kind of synth orcrhestra that is so evoke some kinds of feeling of space and the wonder of exploration, which is kinda ironic..
Rayman 2's themes are different in as much as you get a mounting tension theme, and its usually composed from (its hard to tell through the midi-compression) a bunch of closely placed overlapping beats, though I may just be thinking of the Foutch fight.

This is my fate, I cannot run from it...
ANYWAY, regarding Sonic music, there is no distinct style of Sonic music anymore. They just use whatever they feel fits the level/scene. In Lost World alone, you have full on orchestra, dubstep, some great violin/piano pieces, some ambient pieces, big band pieces, synth pieces, energetic songs with a lot of instruments, ska music, and then a song that sounds like it was taken right out of a melodramatic French musical. And I'm likely missing out on some songs here.
I could probably find a Rayman 2-esque song from a Sonic game if I put my mind to it, actually.

Re: Rayman 2
After a year of having Rayman 2 for PC but not being able to play it, OCG showed me to a patch made by Emshomar and yesterday I was finally able to play it.
Right now I'm up to the Sanctuary of Stone and Fire. It's taking me a long time to get used to the controls and worlds, especially since I haven't played a 3D game in ages since Minecraft. Honestly, I'm still rather wonky with it and often I'm not too sure what's going on, but I am enjoying it nonetheless!
Re: Rayman 2
I'm glad you are enjoying the game, TheDragon.

Good thing I saved file and reuploaded it since the original link is dead. Also it is funny how it says on emshomar's thread that he left forum

Re: Rayman 2
Ah, yes, thank you for that
And yeah, it was really time I played something that isn't Rayman 1.

Not all Rayman fans are gamers on daily basis.

What about that deserved a boon? You seem pointlessly confrontational lately.technology4617 wrote:THEdragon wrote:especially since I haven't played a 3D game in ages since Minecraft.

I'm not really that confrontational, but I felt compelled to respond to some of the more recent posts on the subject of you-know-who, such as some of those made in the + and - thread. It's not that I'm being more confrontational, but that I feel that there are more posts for me to be confrontational about. theDRAGON's is not one of them, but my point is that you have grown accustomed to my recent behavior as a recent tradition, when in reality it was due to the change in content.
I suppose that's understandable.THEdragon wrote:Ah, yes, thank you for that
