Changing resolution should be done from config file.

Texture resolution or the operating resolution? The two are very different things. Textures are images placed on a 3D model to provide color/characteristics/transparency, the resolution of which affects the detail of things like facial features, as they are essentially the "paint" of 3D models.

The operating resolution, which I believe you are referring to, simply affects the resolution at which the game appears to us, the increase of which (obviously) provides more overall detail.

Sorry if this is a bit confusing. Hopefully someone will be able to explain it better than me. :P

I can't remember which one causes the crash. I'll check later.

I'm guessing the operating resolution, since a resolution not supported by your graphics card can cause crashes. ;)

Yeah, I think it's the operating resolution. Doesn't matter, because it already operates at the same resolution as my monitor and that's good.
Also, did anyone else lose it laughing when Foutch punched Rayman?

Not me at least, for such a critical moment.

Eh, maybe I just have a bizarre sense of humour. I've laughed at other perhaps inappropriate moments, like Rayman getting electrocuted. Heh.
I also find it peculiar when Rayman defeats a certain enemy or gets past a certain point and does that weird little random celebration thing.

That sounds like it was the best gamepad ever in my opinion
If you are talking about that Mad Catz controller that I once had, then I would have to disagree. Pathetic joysticks and d-pad, as well as nonresponsive buttons. I was using it as a substitute for my DualShock 3 until I figured out how to use my DualShock 3 on my PC. :P
The one I am talking about is Lifetech AngEvil.

Best level in the game! Funny how I hated it so much the first time I played it that I was ready to pay my little brother to finish it the second time! I had such a hard time avoiding the yellow lava on the plum, and the walking shell section gave me the runaround too. But then I started enjoying the magic of the level... as I got better at the game.

Ah, yeah, the part with the yellows lava and the plum boggled my head a bit too!

I'm up to the prison ship now. In the cutscene where Rayman gives Polokus the final mask, I found it oddly cute when Rayman cautiously put his nose into the portal then hesitated before going in. I dunno why, but I aww'd at it.

Ah yes, The Sanctuary of Stone and Fire, possible the hardest level in the game, some of the plum riding can be a little finicky, but with skill and patience, it soon becomes rather fun.
That being said, that Walking Shell segment can suck it, if there weren't respawning red lums, I'd get constant Try Agains thanks to missing the path to the door.

Now, to The Prison Ship, with a nice little fight with a Ninja Pirate, be sure to be on your guard and keep moving, he'll try to squish you if you stand still. And then there's the flying shell segment, very nice once you get it, but it's a pity they saved it for so late, as it'd be nice to ride about some of the more exotic Rayman 2 environments.

Hm, I do like it also, despite its shortness, I really love how the Robot Pirates have a unique beach fight music theme.

It's a pity there wasn't a Sanctuary of Air for the last mask, it'd be nice to see some temple with air gimmicks, perhaps with the air currents seen in the Fairy Glade?

I doubt it was a case of laziness, as there'd be some indication of the Sanctuary if they had actually intended for there to be one, I think the mines were always meant to play the role of being the level of the final mask.

The Grolem 13 does look quite like Axel, though his boss fight is much more interesting than Axel's.

sorry for the use of the french name potato i never play the english version :hap:

but i don't believe that the mines were meant to play that role, it's so easy, globox's baby just arrives and gives it to you... i was disappointed! or maybe technical limitations? i have hard to believe that they have three sanctuaries and then... nothing for the last mask (trollface) :noel:

Maybe they didn't want to be so formulaic, and added the mines more as a twist to prevent getting old.

It wasn't laziness, the only reason people complain that Axel and Grolem 13 are too similar is because they're both blue. It would've taken ten seconds in an image editor to change his colour to something else and he'd be no closer to Axel than Foutch is. That said, I don't think the Grolem 13 battle plays out in a particularly interesting way.
