Re: Show your computer backgrounds?
Yeah, 4k is still a more emerging technology, might be a while before we lesser loaded beings are able to readily survey it.

Dell will be coming out with their own 4k monitor, but from what I read, the price tag is going to be higher than that Asus.

Re: Show your computer backgrounds?
Beware, the higher the resolution the worse low resolution picture will look on it. If you still want to play retro then stay away from a 4K monitor.

There are always filters on Emulators to make game look good. Wouldn't that work for huge monitors too?

Too bad it isn't a CRT, or you wouldn't have such issue. My 24" Sony CRT will do 1920 x 1200 any day, and look fantastic at MS-DOS game resolutions.emshomar wrote:Beware, the higher the resolution the worse low resolution picture will look on it. Re: Show your computer backgrounds?
I can imagine playing a PS2 game at 6x native on a monitor like that. It would look much like the "hd" remakes that companies mostly make, probably.OldClassicGamer wrote:There are always filters on Emulators to make game look good. Wouldn't that work for huge monitors too?

Re: Show your computer backgrounds?
Yeah, people even can do it to force some LCD monitors to run at a higher refresh rate..

Re: Show your computer backgrounds?
There has been no evidence of it being able to, that I see of. A lot of people do it at OCN with out issues.emshomar wrote:Wouldn't that take dammage to the panel of the Screen?Hoodcom wrote:Yeah, people even can do it to force some LCD monitors to run at a higher refresh rate..
However, on windows desktop screen, there were frame skipping occurrences, but in full screen games there weren't any.
