My middle school friends tend to feel neutral about Rayman, neither liking it nor disliking it. A couple of my close friends took interest in it when I introduced them to it. There was an ongoing "Rayman Raving Rabbids" joke at my middle school, due to my dislike of the series, as well as my getting annoyed whenever the topic was brought up. In the "joke," everyone would purposefully change the subject to the Rabbids whenever I brought Rayman up, and it never completely died down until I graduated from the school. Other than the Rabbids, my friends really have no dislike toward the original series (except for one), if they even know what it is.
Hm, Rayman isn't much of a current name, I can mention it and some will talk about past releases elatedly, but I don't think I've met anyone irl who shares my love for the series.
this year,i have changed school and made alot of friends there,much more that i could imagine i would,and they are preety cool people,even more they are big fan of many games like me
and they even like rayman
once they came here and we played rayman legends,we played on both the co op and the soccer mode(sadly i only had 3 controllers,so it was 2vs1)
my friends already knew the rayman series nad they enjoyed playing it alot,even more it was kinda funny sometimes like,once one of them used the rayman teensie and said "i wanna be the dickhead",even though they say alot of bad words,they are still nice and good pals for me

koreanwalkingdead finds it a bit interesting, but he does not like it that much. A few other real life friends I have don't really like it sadly.
Huh! Time to update Rayman's social standing around my people:
One of my best friends is really into the series right now, and he's recently played through Rayman 2, Origins and Legends, just having completed the latter the day before yesterday. My other friends haven't ever played any of the games, but appreciate it and know a bit about them given that I'm working on my fangame.
I don't have any friends who love it to the same extent I do, but I have many people in my life who enjoy the franchise. My best friend in particular, really enjoyed playing Origins and Legends with me, and he holds nostalgic value for Rayman 2.
My siblings and various family members also have a soft spot for Rayman, partly because they enjoy the character so much. My first experience with Rayman was Rayman 1, and that was because my uncle owned it, and I remember him being hooked on it.
Joking aside, I'm not really sure. Some of them act as if they do like it, but sometimes those friends bring up certain Rayman games and say that they are so bad, they practically taint the entire Rayman series. Other friends I have don't like it really, and then the remaining friends who I haven't talked about don't even know what Rayman is. Yeah, it's a shame. I know.

You would not believe how many times at my middle school that when I mentioned the word "Rayman," people asked me if I was talking about that shitty game for the Wii. -_- I was obviously annoyed at this, so some of my friends started the "Raving Rabbids" mini-meme at my school. It never died away until high school (a different school, mind you), and is probably being passed on to future generations as we speak.
Hm, I didn't really talk much of Rayman during the Rabbids era, as that was when I was in my first years of High School and was excruciatingly awkward and reclusive, I think I began to open up near the end, but for the most part, Rayman wasn't really much of a big name.

My talk of Rayman wasn't during the Rabbids era. It was a year and a half ago.
