I'm more comparing its quality to the original game, and questioning whether the GBC adaptation was necessary, as the much superior Rayman 1 was available on many other platforms, and eventually became available on the GBC's older brother, the GBA.Hunchman801 wrote:The Game Boy Color adaptation was very well received by critics and I found it to be a great game given the limitations of the console.

Re: Rayman 1
Well, younger brother, seeing as the GBA came after the GBC.
In fairness, I think the GBC version shouldn't be compared to the originals, it follows a similar framework, but it's not so much a port as it is an adaptation, unlike the other versions, which all are fundamentally the same game with a dollop of differences here and there.

I called the GBA the GBC's older brother, which it is.Master wrote:Well, younger brother, seeing as the GBA came after the GBC.
I'm just wondering if it was entirely necessary. From the looks of it, it didn't seem nearly as good as the original game.Master wrote:In fairness, I think the GBC version shouldn't be compared to the originals, it follows a similar framework, but it's not so much a port as it is an adaptation, unlike the other versions, which all are fundamentally the same game with a dollop of differences here and there.
Re: Rayman 1
They made both adaptations on mobile. Both for GBC and Console version. I think it was nice actually to give people chance trying out both.technology4617 wrote:I'm more comparing its quality to the original game, and questioning whether the GBC adaptation was necessary, as the much superior Rayman 1 was available on many other platforms, and eventually became available on the GBC's older brother, the GBA.Hunchman801 wrote:The Game Boy Color adaptation was very well received by critics and I found it to be a great game given the limitations of the console.

Re: Rayman 1
Hm, to clarify, Game Boy Colour (GBC) and Game Boy Advance (GBA), when you say older brother, are you talking about the Rayman games, or the consoles?
Re: Rayman 1
I think he meant consoles.

Hm, but that's just it, the Colour came out before the Advance, hence, in terms of how long it's been about, isn't it older than the Advance?
If he's talking about specs, well...I wouldn't really use age to signify it.

I checked. Nothing was much help. I only own the Ps1 version, and the only passwords for that I've seen are the 5 tedious ones that take you to Mister Dark's Dare.incognito wrote:You should check raymanfanpage !

I was thinking in terms of the release years, causing me to have a temporary brain lapse. Sorry about that.
