Ooh, Congratulations, Brad!
Hm, as for the new theme, we could always do a 2013 one, for retrospectiveness.

Re: SOTM #56 - Vote for next theme

After a few hundred edits I put up the poll to choose the next theme.

One other thing is that for the sake of new years the increased jackpot will still be in place regardless of theme, so 1500 default + 150 per entry.

I don't think it's necessary to change the submitted sig to be one's own, only that said submitted sig would be completely functional as a legitimate sig, and not just a piece of artwork.

You can submit any sig you want be it the one you're using or any sig you make but not use. The only other rules about submissions include :
- If you asked another user to make the sig you need to state who made it, so they too can receive prizes
- The maximum size limit is 750 x 250 px
- Minimum size limit is 200 x 100 px
- You can not submit the same sig in more than 2 contests in a row
- Any edits made to a signature will count as the same sig
- Simple or lazy edits of sigs will not be allowed at all (Lazy edits would be, for example colouring the sig blue when the theme is blue)

Ha! There are ties against all the themes. (Well except Freestyle)

Well, freestyle is always best option in my opinion.

So you're saying that we should scrap themes all together?

It's not me who decide so it would be best not to answer that. After all, there are votes.
I just think freestyle is best option because it gives people choice of something they like.

Given that Freestyle seems to be everyone's favourite what do the rest of you think?

Is there any point in themes?

Ehh, I think constantly giving free reign like so could be beneficial at first, but in the long run, people might get burnt out or lose originality, it also might not be best as people might rate sigs more for what they represent as opposed to the effort or actual aesthetics. Giving themes forces sig makers to be a little more creative in order to stand out, and also gives more of a level playing field when it comes to content representation.

I love the idea of themes! If it were all freestyle, it would get kinda bland, I believe.

Yes. Themes are nice ways to give signatures a bit of a challenge to fit properly to it and let the member use their creativity way better than Freestyle.

Hm, ok.

Since everyone still likes the themes i'll still run theme polls however the question shall be brought up again if there's too many Freestyle themes in a row.

Hm, maybe have it themed as a normal thing, but with the periodic freestyle, perhaps every two or three seasons?

That's a good idea. Maybe 3 months for freestyle and the other months get a specific.
