Re: Rayman's age
The events in the trailer may have become non-canon, but the story of Rayman's origin is still told via the manual and ingame hints, the Nymphs wanted to summon up a being to fight Polokus' first nightmares, Jano being the outcome of the first, however as the Nymphs approached the area where the hero was to be made, they were attacked by Zombie Chickens which caused them to lose some lums they were carrying, hence when they did reach where they were headed, Rayman was created, but with his signature limblessness, due to their not being enough lums for energy.

Re: Rayman's age
So what about all the other 'ray-people' we saw in Rayman 1?Master4lyf1 wrote:The events in the trailer may have become non-canon, but the story of Rayman's origin is still told via the manual and ingame hints, the Nymphs wanted to summon up a being to fight Polokus' first nightmares, Jano being the outcome of the first, however as the Nymphs approached the area where the hero was to be made, they were attackedby Zombie Chickens which caused them to lose some lums they were carrying, hence when they did reach where they were headed, Rayman was created, but with his signature limblessness, due to their not being enough lums for energy.

Retconned into limbed beings, like the Magician becoming a teensie, or Betilla becoming a nymph.

Re: Rayman's age
How can he be younger in Origins if it takes place after Rayman 3?
For me it is:
Rayman 1 - 10 years old
Rayman 2 - 13 years old
Rayman 3 and Rabbids series, 17 years old
Rayman Origins, adult in 20's who wants to be child again
Rayman Legends, over 100 years because of sleeping.

Re: Rayman's age
Hehe, last thing I said in this thread was almost a year ago, where I was pretty stiffly enforcing the then current Origins ideas in my Headcanon, ehh, I don't even really bother anymore, I just make up ideas and broad strokes.
Re: Rayman's age
I think RO take part after Ray 1(personally)
Re: Rayman's age
Thats not what official confirmation by Ubi says.
Re: Rayman's age
I think of Rayman as being 10 in Rayman 1, then how much older he is in the other games being according to how many years after R1 it was released. With the exception of RL, in which I also add another 100 years.

Re: Rayman's age
Hm, so in that case:
Rayman 1 - 10
Rayman 2 - 14
Rayman 3 - 18
Rayman Origins - 26
Rayman Legends - 128
Hm, seems like a reasonable match up.

Re: Rayman's age
Yes, exactly like that!
Although perhaps it may also depend slightly on during which time of the year Rayman's birthday is.

Re: Rayman's age
Hm, it's only a difference by a year anyways, I don't think it really makes much of a difference in the grand scheme of things.
Re: Rayman's age
So you think like this:THEdragon wrote:I think of Rayman as being 10 in Rayman 1, then how much older he is in the other games being according to how many years after R1 it was released. With the exception of RL, in which I also add another 100 years.
Rayman - 10 years
Rayman 2 -14 years
Rayman 3 - 18
RRR - 21
RRR 2 - 22
RRR TV - 23
RO - 26
RL -127
Clever way of counting Rayman's age and result is not bad.
EDIT: Ninja Master.
Re: Rayman's age
Yeah. It is slightly implied that Rayman may have had a birthday during the events of Rayman 1, around the time of entering Candy Château. The loading image shows him with a birthday cake, and the original drawing of that image has 'HAPPY BIRTHDAY, RAYMAN' written on it.THEdragon wrote:Yes, exactly like that!Although perhaps it may also depend slightly on during which time of the year Rayman's birthday is.

Re: Rayman's age
Erm, not to be rude, OCG, but I made that post 10 minutes ago to yours, how'd you miss it?
Either ways, yeah, we're agreed, it's not a bad way to keep his age tracked at all.

Re: Rayman's age
Oh, here's that 'birthday' thing I was talking about.

Re: Rayman's age
It took me that much to write it due to phone typing and being tired. It's 02:16 AMMaster wrote:Erm, not to be rude, OCG, but I made that post 10 minutes ago to yours, how'd you miss it?

Re: Rayman's age
I think it's pretty strange to compare Rayman's growth rate to that of a human being's for two plausible reasons:
- Clearly, all notable species of the Glade can seem to live for hundreds upon hundreds of years, as there seems to be no real change in them during that hundred-year nap.
- Or their development gets put completely on hold during that hibernation, essentially meaning that they don't technically age during then.
I prefer to compare his apparent maturity with that of a human, not his absolute age.

Re: Rayman's age
I think of his age as this:
Rayman 1: 9
Rayman 2: 12
Rayman M: 13
Rayman 3: 14
RRR 1: 14
RRR 2: 15
RRR TV: 15
Then Rayman was probably hit on the head really hard during a fight or something, which explains why he's all childlike in the next two games.
Rayman Origins: 15
Rayman Legends: 117
Rayman 1: 9
Rayman 2: 12
Rayman M: 13
Rayman 3: 14
RRR 1: 14
RRR 2: 15
RRR TV: 15
