Hm, fair enough, it's true that I have used my Xmas sig as a template for this one, so it does fall under the similar sigs rule.

I suppose that because you didn't slap on 1 image but multiple of them it just bypasses what I consider to be a lazy edit. Although my main concern is whether it's "futuristic" enough since it's more sci-fi than anything else.

Question: Is time travel and mechas considered futuristic?

Yeah i'll let them pass. Anything deemed to be "from the future" is acceptable.

I still think that the themes should probably be stuck to a lot closer than they are now. Take note of how the only two entries so far are drop-ins and weren't even made with SOTM in mind at all, and furthermore only bear minimal resemblance to the theme.

I don't mind this too much only because it does take time to make and I don't want people stressing to make a personal sig then a completely new one for SOTM if they could just use the personal one if it fits.

That's why I was hesitant to submit Master's straight away, then I figured I was being to up-tight about submitting them and did so anyway. I admit to being not entirely sure what would class as "Futuristic" beyond "Future setting".

Eeeeeh now that's really pushing it. Also is there any need to have both that and your original sig as your sig?

What's really pushing it? It's a futuristic robot?

Your sig is much more "Robotic" than "Futuristic" and in this day Robots are barely "Futuristic". At least Master's and Inco's sig where both based on Futuristic Fiction so they both at least give off that theme, even if so barely.

Although looking at it again that's not the only way you're "pushing it"; the sig is also so close to being classed as a "lazy edit".

perhaps you see it as a lazy edit, I actually only used my original as example,
It still took me about 2 hours.
Personally I think it's "futuristic" enough to enter.
Anyways, let's not start a fight, opinion is opinion :)

P.S. Sorry if I seem rude, it's certainly not on purpose

First off; if you double post there's something called a "delete" button you can use unless someone posts afterwards.

Secondly rude is not the right word to describe what you said to me; cheek would be much closer (even if that is not what you tried to make out, but it's as stupid as saying "Don't mean to offend you but <offensive thing here>"). Yes I have said I am unsure what would class as futuristic in this sense, and yes you can input if you think it fits, but at the end of the day it is ultimately my decision to determine what would be ok and what isn't. So if you think this will "pick up a fight" remember that this contest is run by me; not you, and so my point stands higher than yours.

As of which, I have ultimately decided that your robot is not "futurey" enough to pass as "futiristic" which will be my deciding factor on deciding not to enter that sig in.

Like I said, opinion is opinion.
Better luck next month :?

P.S. I don't think you're being really polite, I was actually kind of shocked by your reaction.

I was shocked by your reaction, because instead of saying "Ok maybe i'll just go improve my sig to make it fit the theme better" you decided to defend your sig of which sparked this ruckus. I can't just let any sig in just because you say "I think it looks futuristic" when it arguably isn't. In fact you aren't going to get anywhere if you think like that.

Maybe I do sound like i'm getting riled up but that is only because you decided dragging this on was a better idea than either leaving it or fixing the sig.

I can't believe I'm actually saying this, but you're kind of right. It probably isn't futuristic enough now I look at it, so I probably will try to future it up a little tomorrow.
Let's just call this a little misunderstanding :)
