Re: Rayman 1
Short for Electronic Entertainment Expo, happens once every year, in LA, I believe. It's probably the biggest Gaming Convention in the world, where game devs and manufacturers announce, show off and demo upcoming games and consoles.

MisterDark'sFanClub seems to not have heard of a lot of bog-standard things like emulation, image-posting and E3. Not that that's necessarily a bad thing, I'm just surprised given how I've seldom met anyone my age who doesn't know what any fewer than all three of those are.

Hm, I know I've met some my age who don't understand stuff like Emulation and E3, but have some background in gaming, mind you. But I think it's becoming more scarce these days.

Re: Rayman 1
I wouldn't expect most normal people to know anything about software emulation or E3.
Re: Rayman 1
To be honest, I didn't really know what E3 was before Master explained it, but I guessed it was some kinda gaming-related thing.

Re: Rayman 1
Huh. Even the footballers and non-gamers in my school knew what they were, I guess that's just a coincidence then.
Re: Rayman 1
Well, only in my middle of teenagehood I learnt what was the E3, but when it comes about emulation, I learnt that in my 11.

Most people my age don't know shit about E3 or emulation (though perhaps too much about image-posting).Adsolution wrote:MisterDark'sFanClub seems to not have heard of a lot of bog-standard things like emulation, image-posting and E3. I remember one time I was trying to explain the concept of emulation to one of the bigger assholes (though I didn't know that at the time) at my middle school, to which he moaned "Ahhh, my brain!"

E3 is a gaming convention overrun with basement dwellers and neckbeards, unless you guys were referring to something else?

Re: Rayman 1
I learned about E3 when like 15 or 16, and Emulation when like 9, although back then, Emulation was not good like today at all.

Hehe. I'm quite sheltered. I always like learning about stuff like that when I first hear about it, though. (I barely even knew what Comic-Con was until a few years ago. Yeah.)Adsolution wrote:MisterDark'sFanClub seems to not have heard of a lot of bog-standard things like emulation, image-posting and E3. I'm missing quite a bit of the conversation here, so... Here's what I'm picking up so far: there's going to be an unveiling of a new Rayman game at E3, am I right? And where does Haruka fit in all this? Was it someone from E3 who contacted her?
Re: Rayman 1
Nobody knows. Haruka is teasing us all who contacted her. One person guessed it correct although she wont tell us who was right. Many clues however indicate it is connected with R1 remake getting announced for E3 and my guess is that she is maybe a beta tester or helping somehow since she is good player of original R1. We wont know until E3 - thats when she said she will tell us who it was.

Re: Rayman 1
Hm, remember that she did say someone was right in their guesses earlier. This is a most curious game indeed.
Re: Rayman 1
I know, and thats what I noted too in my comment. I really wish R1 Remake announcement for E3 is correct answer, and if she is beta tester, damn, thats once in a lifetime for many people. Big achivement that would be.

Re: Rayman 1
Pf lol. I doubt they would show something like that at E3.OldClassicGamer wrote:Many clues however indicate it is connected with R1 remake getting announced for E3
Re: Rayman 1
Why do you doubt?
Re: Rayman 1
If Haruka was a beta tester for an unannounced game, she would definitely not be allowed to leave any hints to her being one, much less toward the existence of the game. They would have made sure that she would know that perfectly well, so I don't think you should hope for that.

Re: Rayman 1
so haruka is doing some sort of beta test? seems about right, since she is among the best of all things rayman here.
Re: Rayman 1
Really? Because I know a CoD Beta Tester who wrote that he is one on his facebook page.Drolpiraat wrote:If Haruka was a beta tester for an unannounced game, she would definitely not be allowed to leave any hints to her being one, much less toward the existence of the game. Then again perhaps he did it without permission.
But I know for sure Haruka is not person like that.
So either she got permission to tease game's existance in very indirect way or she was contacted by someone regarding R1 for something else.

Re: Rayman 1
Regardless, let's not get in over our heads, E3 indication or not.
