Re: Rayman 1
WOW thanks RibShark! This looks amazing! It felt more like Rayman 1 HD and I almost shit myself when I saw that kind of quality! I will work that out all the night and I must release an update before holidays ends!

Re: Rayman 1
Rayman advance is probably known as the high pitched and off tune Rayman game, but there is one soundtrack that I think is better then the one on the console/ DSi Rayman game. On the level where you break the rock and the guy plays his guitar and gives Rayman the power to fly, the music he plays on his guitar I think that the gba version is more in depth with the level design and really fits the mood of the area you are playing in.

Japanese version plays fine for me on ePSXe 1.8spiraldoor wrote:Has anyone played Rayman in ePSXe on Windows 7? The music won't work for me, even though I'm using the same plugins and configuration that worked perfectly on Vista.
I dunno about 1.9
Which version are you using of ePSXe and which version of R1?

Re: Rayman 1
Adsolution actually played that theme on acoustic guitar, and it sounded great. Hopefully, an improved version of that track will be in the remake he is making.Raymanarenaps2 wrote:Rayman advance is probably known as the high pitched and off tune Rayman game, but there is one soundtrack that I think is better then the one on the console/ DSi Rayman game. Spiral complains about the lack of music, which it is not linked with the emulator's versions but yes with the plugins used.
This shall work if he tries out:

Yes, spiral can probably fix the issue with the CDDA music on ePSXe. I am simply recommending what I see as a better and more accurate emulator that he can use.
But on the topic of ePSXe versions, anything above 1.7 cannot play the NTSC versions of the game (i.e., the ones that actually run at the proper speed). So the game you are playing is running significantly slower than the original version.
Re: Rayman 1
I've never heard about XEBRA before, but I haven't been having reasons of complain with ePSXe. I even bought the Android version not only to play PS1 titles in my tablet but also to support the developers of this great tool since I use their emulator for years for variated goals.
Re: Rayman 1
ePSXe is clearly the best PS1 Emulator ever. So many customization options.
Android version is clearly much better than any PS1 Emulator on iOS too.

Re: Rayman 1
Works perfectly fine for me as well. The most important thing to make sure you're using is the Mooby2 CD-ROM plugin, as the music will not play unless you're using that. Check Repeat All CDDA Tracks in it, and then have it set to autorun the ISO.spiraldoor wrote:Has anyone played Rayman in ePSXe on Windows 7? So essentially, integrated, unconfigurable plugins.technology4617 wrote:All of the hardware, including the GPU, is emulated/simulated by the emulator itself, rather than external plugins.
Re: Rayman 1
@Ad, I don't like how XEBRA does not let me configure things how I want.
Re: Rayman 1
On the topic of what emulator to use, I would suggest PCSXR. It supports all the plugins that EPSXE does (and more), does not require a BIOS file (Rayman runs perfectly without it), and runs Rayman without a hassle.

Re: Rayman 1
Considering that all of the integrated functions of the emulator have settings just as customizable as those in external plugins, with the exception of forced resolutions, I consider it more of ease than a hindrance. This statement just shows that you have never actually used the emulator, and are just making assumptions due to your own bias. I actually have a completely unbiased opinion, as I have used XEBRA, ePSXe, PCSX, and PCSX-R, the latter three giving me the most shit. Yes, I viewed Haruka's tutorial. Yes, I got the music working. Yes, the emulator had an unfixable problem with reading the CDDA TOC. Yes, the Bongo Hills music played in the Mr. Dark boss fight. Yes. the sound glitched out before the exit sign music. Yes, there were slowdowns when recording. So, yeah, I have used ePSXe. And had a real fun experience with it!Adsolution wrote:So essentially, integrated, unconfigurable plugins.
Thus, I switched to XEBRA, and was much happier in the long run. Though a few features got shaved off, the emulator was much more accurate overall, and it works just as well (or, in some cases, better than) Sony's own official ones, let alone ePSXe. A game will really play as it would on a PS2, without issues or glitches.
I've tried using it without a BIOS. Unless you enjoy massive slowdowns, it's not a good idea. I would actually recommend ePSXe over PCSX-R, as it is the lesser of two evils.RibShark wrote:On the topic of what emulator to use, I would suggest PCSXR. I've never had any slowdown without a BIOS. Maybe you should try it again, it may have improved since you last used it.

Wtf? Please present me with proof for this statement, and stop being an obnoxious cunt. I'm not the one condemning a perfectly fine emulator in favour of a closed-source alternative that or may not work better in various cases.technology4617 wrote:This statement just shows that you have never actually used the emulator, and are just incredibly biased due to your own ignorance. I've used Xerbia, and that is literally what it is: They trust themselves enough to create functioning emulation software to the point where they won't allow any optional external plugins. Perhaps Xerbia's integrated 'plugins' are better than the vast majority of plugins available, but the fact of the matter is that it's still completely closed, something I'm personally not fond of. Also, I've had more issues with Xerbia than I have with ePSXe, as in, I've run into next to no trouble with ePSXe. User experiences may differ! Just saying! And now I'm the biased one because I'm not in agreement with you, right?

Yeah, sorry about that statement; I edited my post afterwards since I realized I was a bit too rude with my previous statement, so sorry.Adsolution wrote:Wtf? I assumed you hadn't used the program before making that statement, simply due to the fact that most people I encounter have not used the program at all, or have not nearly put the same amount of effort into making it work than they do ePSXe (*cough cough* OCG *cough cough*). I assumed you also had not, considering I have never had any issues with the program.
However, many people on this forum continue to use ePSXe to play Rayman 1, despite the fact that there is a much more accurate alternative that they have never even tried. I've had many an issue with ePSXe, and finally just got fed up and moved on to something else. I am simply suggesting that there are alternatives for people to use, and while XEBRA may not have as many features, it is a more accurate and stable emulator, and I prefer it for that reason.
Also, to clarify, I used the word "motherfucker" to clarify my annoyance with the program. I wasn't insulting you. Sorry if this was unclear.

What would everyone say for my livestream of Rayman for the Atari Jaguar to occur next Saturday at 11:00 PM PST?

I'm totally good with that, and for once I don't have to perform the simple task of timezone conversion.

That's the plugin I'm using, with the settings Haruka listed in her video. I've tried 1.7 and 1.8, and the music doesn't work in either.Adsolution wrote:Works perfectly fine for me as well. Re: Rayman 1
Are you running an ISO file, or IMG/SUB/CCD or BIN/CUE combination? I doubt a single ISO file would work as it has no information for the audio tracks. If you're using one of these combinations, always run/mount the CUE or if you have it, the CCD file, as they do contain that information. If you have a CUE file and it doesn't work either, could you post it so I can check?spiraldoor wrote:That's the plugin I'm using, with the settings Haruka listed in her video. If you're running from the original disc, then I guess that doesn't matter.
