I watched three movies yesterday.

- Cars 2: I enjoyed it slightly more than the first one (Matter surely is a trouble-maker) but still, I don't consider it one of the best PIXAR movies.

- Jack and Jill: It had some funny parts but the majority of the movie was boring and lame.

- A Monster in Paris: This french animation movie is really adorable, I might draw Francoeur one day. :D

A wonderful movie :*D about 2 brothers and a girl from the slums in Bombai (India) about their terrible childhood and the one brother becoming a gangster or whatever and the other becoming an honest person who got inprisoned for giving all answers so far correct in who becomes the millionaire.

I recently saw a movie called Hot Fuzz, which is a hilarious satire of an action/cop film, where a hard-boiled city cop is transferred to the country as a result of his somewhat large arrest record, and is disgusted with the prospect of moving there. After he gets there, he is greeted with a thick-skulled and stubborn police force, who judges him due to his coming from the city and accuses him of being too paranoid. Too disgusted with the most urgent matters, such as the annoying living statue, they are too busy to investigate the killings of a strange hooded figure, which are quite obviously murders, but always deemed as accidents by the local police force. Angel, the city cop, suspects the local grocery store manager, as he had motive and was often close to the scene of the crime. Unfortunately, he will have to wrangle up the lazy country bums of a police force before he can do anything about it.

Okay, so back around Christmas I watched three things on Netflix:

The movie 9. Pretty lame to be honest, in spite of the neat action scenes and cool visual style. Has very little going for it, not even the grand sense of scale that it desperately tries to build up.

Lord of the Rings 1. Way fucking better than 9, glad I watched it afterwards! A nice flick, though not very self contained at all, which is a shame because I never got around to see the sequels before they stopped being available. The reason I never got around to this is because I took the time to watch...

The entirety of Avatar: The Last Airbender. All of it! Took me about two weeks, with breaks getting shorter and shorter, until it reached 7-8 episodes per day. It's a really popular show, which made me curious enough to give it a shot. Turns out it's so popular because it's charming, sweet, funny, smart, intriguing and exciting! How nice! My only regret is that Netflix is now recommending I watch stuff like Duel Masters and Barbie: Life in the Dreamhouse. Yeah, I'll pass.

After Rayfist had to leave, Gwee and I watched Legend of the Titanic, and holy moley, this is a movie that you have to see with your own eyes to truly comprehend how hilariously terrible it is. If you've seen Nostalgia Critic's review on it, then you need to watch the actual thing. It's so inept, it's so unbelievable.

Tomorrow we'll be taking a gander at Felix the Cat. Oh boy.
If you're looking for any other obscure corny flicks to laugh at, I suggest Plan 9 From Outer Space.

Hah, even if there had been that many movies, it would be pretty strange of me to watch the ninth one followed by the first one. :P

Sorry! I know the movie 9, but I decided to misinterpret the post in a dumb way. I agree with you that it is lackluster.

just saw "saving mr banks," its about the story of how Walt Disney created the movie version of Mary Poppins. the music fits the time period perfectly (unlike the great gatsby) and Poppin's Author's backstory is rather intense; so much that near the climax of the backflashes I was almost in tears! not sure what i can say about the rest off the audience, as most others where 35+ in age; the other teens around here must be still watching the hunger games, for the 2nd, 3rd, 4th time :?

I recently saw "American Hustle," which was a very nice change of pace from the usual crap superhero/comic/big-budget sci-fit shit we usually see. The writing was superb, with good jokes and realistic dialogue, the direction also great, and the acting was even better, and while all of the cast's performances were quite good, Christian Bale and Jennifer Lawrence did especially good jobs at portraying their very different characters, in my personal opinion. Bale portrayed a wise con man who carefully views each situation to measure the gain to the risks, unlike his overexcitable fed partner who jumps at every exciting oportunity, and Lawrence being his certifiably insane almost-ex-wife who likes "to put metal in the science oven." But every actor did a great job, making the characters very relatable, and making you care about them and the story in a way that I haven't felt for many movies.

Since I wasn't alive in the 70s, I can't speak for the costumes they used, but, according to my parents, they were dead-on with the fashion style at that time, making the movie feel as though it were really from the 70s. They even went so far as to use the old Skippy's label for the peanut butter jar that one of the characters spreads on his toast.

I'm quite glad my family decided to watch this instead of The Hobbit, which my classmates are still getting orgasms over.

Watched Catching Fire not too long ago. I enjoyed it. I felt that, though it tried too hard at times, it was genuinely darker than the first. The Empire Strikes Back of the Hunger Games trilogy.
