You people never cease to disgrace me with your lack of Scottish-ness and plentiful of British-ness.

Re: Eighth edition of the posts in a day record
It has to do with something about french word for friend.
He said that word "friend" is said on french very similar to word "potato" so he made joke.

I hardly see how the words seem similar though.

Re: Eighth edition of the posts in a day record
The French word is 'poto' if I recall correctly, I'm not totally sure how it's used, though I think it's some kind of a slang for 'friend'.

Oh I see now. Must be slang since I wasn't aware of it's existence.

Re: Eighth edition of the posts in a day record
It's a deformation of pote, which is already slang for friend, so no wonder you haven't learnt this at school!

Aye, you don't usually learn to speak informally unless you head to the streets yo.
I knew I recalled hearing the word a lot before in context, though I couldn't discern as to whether it was pote or poto. Lole, despite getting top marks for French-English translation in school, I'm generally far too embarrassed to go the other way (speak/write it) more than like once a year, which I know is totally not productive if I want to improve.

Before we know it, he'll end up having a potato in his signature.
