I think Air is the main element surrounding the fourth mask, the secondary element is more dubious.

The three sanctuary names we do have are all florid and imprecise. The one tied to water is "Water and Ice", the one tied to earth is "Stone and Fire", and the one tied to fire is "Rock and Lava". I like it that way, and it makes sense that the name of the sanctuary tied to air would be similarly inaccurate yet somehow recognisable. (I can't express how much I love being able to discuss this in 2014.)

The Rayman series of old does have quite the number of surprises to throw at us, eh?
Yeah, that does make sense indeed, though I guess the names do give off a slightly more mysterious air with said dubiousness.

The battle against Grolem 13 brings some new elements, I made up that name from the original version only.

You two couldn't have said it better! :D It is impressive how the old Rayman games keep showing up stuff that we don't know or bringing up interesting discussions about their elements.

There's a lot of rich history to the games too, such as Rayman 2's extensive narration, only ever seen in the instruction booklet. I'm sure if were made now, it would have probably had all that in-game.

I sometimes wish to know how would R2 look today if it was start completely from scratch. I am not joking when I say that such remake could maybe be a game that I would love even more than Rayman 1. But I do know that chances for a R2 Remake from scratch are very slim considering that the game was already remade once with extra content such as Hub World, and game was being ported to death over the years.

Rayman 2 HD, isn't that something that we've all mulled over at some point, hm?

What really needs to be done is not a HD remake of any game, but a completely new one with a new story and a gameplay involving most elements/levels/characters seen in the very first games. An HD remake would not bring that many additions as a totally new game would.

Howewer, seeing Rayman 2 levels in today's style is really something I definitely would look forward for.

I think Ubisoft won't produce a remake in the near future, because the gameplay doesn't work well with the current gaming-trend. Everyone wants to play the next Battlefield-DLC or the next Assassins Creed, but noone wants to play another 3D-Jump-n-Run. For Ubisoft, it really isn't worth it.

Sonic's last game Sonic Lost World didn't really sold that well.

Which is probably moreso due to it being a departure from what Sonic traditionally is. Generations, which only came out a couple years prior, sold like wildfire.

We all know the reason why Generation sold so good. Because of Claysick Sawnik included so many fanboys stopped complaining and bought the game just because of character design :P

Are you people forgetting that Mario sells better than CoD?
How can you say nobody wants to play another 3D Platformer?

It's true, but there are just so many fps and fps-like bloody, brutal, killing games and ( unfortunately ) a lot of them sells well. Plus people who I meet daily ( and who play video games ) are talking only about these games, and fucking annoys me and makes me sad that they have no need for anything else, and that their taste narrows down to this point.
The thing that makes me a bit happier is that for example, one of my classmates has Rayman Jungle Run on his phone, plus when I had my tab and Rayman on it, many people have played with it and actually liked it.
Though for me it is inexplicable why the number of people who play platformers and games alike is relatively small compared to fps games.
