Hm, I'm not very well versed with the graphics control menus of the mainstream GPUs (being on an Intel GMA will do that to ya), but can't one enforce Vsync though that?
Re: Rayman 1 & Rayman 2 & Rayman 3 on Wii U
already did so.already failed to improve dem faggoty fpsMaster wrote:Hm, I'm not very well versed with the graphics control menus of the mainstream GPUs (being on an Intel GMA will do that to ya), but can't one enforce Vsync though that?

It's curious though, like I've just said, I run on a crappy Intel GPU that's five years old at the least, if I can manage to get a decent FPS, why can't you? This is weird indeed.
Re: Rayman 1 & Rayman 2 & Rayman 3 on Wii U
i have decent fps but not a constant one. it keeps changed from 72-36 fps and its very noticable and incredibly annoying.go figureMaster wrote:It's curious though, like I've just said, I run on a crappy Intel GPU that's five years old at the least, if I can manage to get a decent FPS, why can't you? Re: Rayman 1 & Rayman 2 & Rayman 3 on Wii U
Hmm, funny, Rayman 2 also has a similar thing where it'd alternate between 60-30 FPS, and last I checked, R3 uses the same engine as R2.
Re: Rayman 1 & Rayman 2 & Rayman 3 on Wii U
that is actually true.i dont think there is a fix other than this whole Vsync thingMaster wrote:Hmm, funny, Rayman 2 also has a similar thing where it'd alternate between 60-30 FPS, and last I checked, R3 uses the same engine as R2.
The game has an engine limit of 72fps. If you try to vsync, it has these dips to 36fps. Since it's cutting the framerate exactly in half, it is most-likely that triple buffering isn't applying when you try to force it, so when the sync isn't perfectly synced, it doesn't have an extra frame ahead to grab so instead it waits for the next.
So, unless we can find some way to unlock the internal framerate or get triple buffering to actually work, our only option for no dips is to run it in 72fps with screen tearing everywhere or vsynced 30fps (would look better than 36fps since most monitors run 60hz so it'd be a steady feed). For me with an ATI card, if you try to set it to normal vsync but 30hz in RadeonPro it crashes on launch. If you use "Always on (Double Vsync)" then it will run 30fps. Also if you set LOD bias to -3 that will make the textures and stuff look nicer since they weren't originally made for such high resolutions.
I'm currently torn as to whether I'll suffer 30fps or constant screen tearing. It's disappointing.

Re: Rayman 1 & Rayman 2 & Rayman 3 on Wii U
Hmm, 30 FPS is more than manageable, I don't think any version of Rayman 3 actually ran at 60 FPS (except the HD remakes, but they're up there with Rayman DS as the worst Rayman port ever made).
But yeah, it'd be nice to fix that indeed.

Re: Rayman 1 & Rayman 2 & Rayman 3 on Wii U
idk I think that the console versions(GCN,PS2,XBOX)ran at a smooth 60 fps atleast thats what I heard.maybe they did actually run at 30 since atm im playing at 60 and its really not half badMaster wrote:Hmm, 30 FPS is more than manageable, I don't think any version of Rayman 3 actually ran at 60 FPS (except the HD remakes, but they're up there with Rayman DS as the worst Rayman port ever made).

nvm having problems. anyway guys lets get back on topic. anyway one of the features i would love to have in this one disked remake of awesome games is multiplayer.maybe they can make some multiplayer minigames? and speaking of which I would really like online leaderboards or online co-op if they offer the online minigames like i mentioned.ANYTHING to do with online would be great since nintendo are for some reason very careful when it comes into online play what do u think
----
I think all 3 should be released on one disk and then released separately on Virtual Console,Xbox Live Arcade,Playstation Network Plus(or whatever its called) and Steam.it should be available as digital and retail for:OldClassicGamer wrote:I think it would be best for Ubisoft if they released all those things I mentioned on one disc, but also offer a digital downloads seperated like it was done with Sly Cooper HD Collection.
Such Collection should be avalaible on Steam, PC Retail, PS3 Retail, PS4 Retail, PSN releases for both PS3 and PS4, Xbox 360 Retail, Xbox One Retail, XBLA versions for both Xbox and Xbox 360, Wii U retail, eShop releases.
PC/Steam XBone/PS4 Wii U/eShop and maybe just maybe PS3/360 but it should be just like Rayman Legends.it would be originally planned for Wii U and then badly ported onto other consoles i really hope Ubisoft pickes up on this idea since i am very sad to have not yet experienced these games "Properly"! just hearing this theme makes me feel sad

Re: Rayman 1 & Rayman 2 & Rayman 3 on Wii U
Regarding the multiplayer, I think Rayman M/Arena can easily be upgraded and adapted to suit such a role, I know many here would like for it to be playable online, so this is a perfect opportunity.
As for the HD Collection, I'd rather it not be planned for the Wii U initially, I think Ubi would probably have the most ease with the PC platform first, given that every single Rayman title has had some release on it, in addition to the fact that PC's do tend to be involved in games development in general anyways. One thing I've always liked about the series in general is availability, all five main series games have had releases on their respective relevant consoles for their time. If a HD remake is to envision the Rayman spirit, I'd expect no less for it too to flourish in similar manner.

thats true! the series is very flourishing! maybe some ports or versions are better than others but thats true! speaking of which do you think that the music should be remixed or redone?? oh believe me the music by itself is awesome it gives me goosebumps everytime I hear it but remixed music like in wind waker HD would be awesome! or even make ALL of the three games' soundtracks orchestrated! holy crap! if this ever happens I will cry bear tears of joy(obvious completionist refrence)Master wrote:Regarding the multiplayer, I think Rayman M/Arena can easily be upgraded and adapted to suit such a role, I know many here would like for it to be playable online, so this is a perfect opportunity.

Re: Rayman 1 & Rayman 2 & Rayman 3 on Wii U
Hmm, I think the tracks could do with some touch ups, but I don't think they need remixing per se, more just remastering. As for orchestrating, ehh...perhaps where it's more relevant, but I think there are plenty of tracks which are better in their current form.
Re: Rayman 1 & Rayman 2 & Rayman 3 on Wii U
I also think if they make the pack before rayman 4 they can make a special secret video hinting at rayman 4 if they ever release it after the release of the collectors pack. the video should only be unlocked once you have 100% all 3 or more(if they put more) games

Hmm, a bit like the Sly 4 teaser in the Sly collection, then?
Re: Rayman 1 & Rayman 2 & Rayman 3 on Wii U
At this point, I doubt that next Rayman 3D game (if the one will come any time sooner) will have number 4 in title. Some games, such as new Ty The Tasmanian Tiger did not call themselves with number 4 on purpose so it does not confuse new audience.

I think there comes a point where numbering every episodic release gets a bit dull and grating, I wouldn't mind seeing that forsaken.

True.As I stated before I would like the next Rayman game to be named Rayman Myths since I think that's a fitting name seeing how the two previous installments were named.OldClassicGamer wrote:At this point, I doubt that next Rayman 3D game (if the one will come any time sooner) will have number 4 in title. As for the possibilities of them make a fourth installment in the main series of games its pretty low.Since it has been around 11 years now since the last 3D Rayman game
(Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc was released in:
GameCube & Game Boy Advance
EU 21 February 2003
NA 2 March 2003
PlayStation 2 & Xbox
EU 14 March 2003
NA 17 March 2003 (PS2)
NA 18 March 2003 (Xbox).
But seeing that Ubisoft have not forgotten about the 3 games and have ported them in some way or another in the previous generation I think there's still a slimmer of hope left to see a new 3D Rayman game.
EDIT:some people have been wondering what is this fps problem with rayman? here it is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jfo_vZMnRlc
this also showcases what happens when you try and make the game widescreen. You get some "placing issues"
Re: Rayman 1 & Rayman 2 & Rayman 3 on Wii U
I had exact problem with R3 on my PC (I installed it recently to try it out on modern PC) and disabling VSync made FPS to be always 75

Hm, it's not going to show up on YouTube, videos are limited to 30 FPS there, it'd be best if you just uploaded the video file to something like MEGA, and then let us download to see what the problem is.
It seems to me that the similarity to Rayman 2 PC is there, as I said before it too fluctuated between 60 and 30.
