Re: Rayman RPG
If we're gonna decide how the battle system , we may need to figure out how each character fights in battle. like Globox uses dances and are effective against robots.

Re: Rayman RPG
Well, perhaps we can look at how the characters have been in past games.
Rayman tends to be reasonably rugged, he's capable of taking a few hits and is pretty agile. His attacks hit pretty well, but not extremely hard.
Globox, depending on which game you look at, can be the more extreme attacker, or extreme defender. Pre-RO Globox is probably better at dodging and taking damage than he is in dishing out attacks, while it seems to be the opposite for RO Globox.
Teensies tend to use magic, they're not the most defensive at all, and I don't think their physical attack would be all that.
Murfy would be good at evading and dodging attacks, but probably not as good at taking them, he makes up for it with his knowledge and good speed.

Re: Rayman RPG
And lets not forget Clark who would be a tank, dealing heavy damage and strong defense.
Ly would be a healer or support character making sure the party's buffed.
Betilla I see as someone who has offensive and defensive magic.
And there's Barbara who's probably fast and agile

Re: Rayman RPG
Say, Are there any Rayman RPG's being made at the moment? I only found 2 in the fanworks but I think they are discontinued. I'm thinking of making my own(not now, other projects)and I already have some ideas for it like who the party is gonna be, what the story is and how it begins and ends, a good portion of location ideas, character arcs and the basics of the combat. I may put it in the Fanworks section when I start cause I know this well be a big project and i may ask for (voluntary)help.

Re: Rayman RPG
@ Master: Not that Globox had much of a personality in Origins anyway.
We also know that Rayman does use his feet sometimes, but prefers mostly using his hands to fight.
I see Ly as magically offensive (but exceptional at defense when she has to use it), and a kicker when she has to use physical combat.
And I see the Magician (the classic one) as magically defensive, but likes to use his magic to pull clever tricks and pranks on the enemy to fight, stall, and confuse them. Kind of like Loki.

Re: Rayman RPG
I'd like a Rayman RPG that plays similarly to the Mario & Luigi series.

MArio and Luigi may be a good series but I don't think the battle system will work.MisterDark'sFanClub wrote: I see Ly as magically offensive (but exceptional at defense when she has to use it), and a kicker when she has to use physical combat.

I was thinking of Ly being the main healer while Betilla was the offenses mage, And the magican would be more like Jeff from Earthbound with all his techno gagets, but I think I can squeeze in a spell for him to learn for story reasons.

Re: Rayman RPG
Hmm, I do like M&L's system, it's a somewhat interesting take on the turn based system, but I think it plays to Mario's tropes more than it does Rayman, though perhaps having a Rayman twist on a turn based system akin to the Mario twist seen in M&L might work well, as I'd not want a Rayman RPG to be run-of-the-mill in that aspect.
Re: Rayman RPG
How about Rayman attempt to do the one Sonic tried in Sonic Chronicles. only no touch screen commands.
Re: Rayman RPG
Could you elaborate why do you think that?todpole wrote:Mario and Luigi may be a good series but I don't think the battle system will work..
Re: Rayman RPG
Well the fighting use two buttons and two characters at least, each uses a different button. And those two members never leave the party or are not gone for very long. And Bowesr had his own buttons for his gameplay too. Which reminds me the fighting gameplay is also used the field, the two buttons gimmick. one reason for this "problem" is that theirs a good few characters that can be used and thats whats holding it back from the M&L style. the Paper Mario system may be possible from what I heard.OldClassicGamer wrote:Could you elaborate why do you think that?todpole wrote:Mario and Luigi may be a good series but I don't think the battle system will work..
Re: Rayman RPG
Paper Mario system is also pretty good. The games are fun too. I would not mind if Rayman RPG used that system.

heard South Patrk was using the timing the button part of it.OldClassicGamer wrote:Paper Mario system is also pretty good. The games are fun too. I would not mind if Rayman RPG used that system.

Re: Rayman RPG
Gadgets? As in Ales Mansay? I meant the classic Magician. I even put that in parentheses.todpole wrote:Bradandez wrote:I'd like a Rayman RPG that plays similarly to the Mario & Luigi series.MArio and Luigi may be a good series but I don't think the battle system will work.MisterDark'sFanClub wrote: I see Ly as magically offensive (but exceptional at defense when she has to use it), and a kicker when she has to use physical combat.

Re: Rayman RPG
Even if they are, they both have completely different personalities and interests. (And I have a headcanon for that.)todpole wrote:To me they are the same character. even got a character arc all planned out for him.
Re: Rayman RPG
Just beat "Stick of Truth", and who was the one who wanted a Paper Mario style RPG. Because thats the kind I think a Rayman RPG. Mainly the combat and how animated and fun the moves looked. And since Ubisoft has the publishing rights for "Stick of Truth"m maybe Obsidian can make an Rayman RPG. So we got the art-style(Ubi-Art) and the battle system. All thats left (for me anyway)is a story. But there's already a thread for that:viewtopic.php?t=12055
Re: Rayman RPG
If anyone wants to this, I would like to create a Rayman RPG game. And boy do I like designing games! Anyone in?
Re: Rayman RPG
