It's also possible that the Rayman Origins developers didn't get the Rayman 3 devs' "glute" joke and thought Globox was really talking about himself.

In which case there are canonically two species named glutes in Rayman's world.

Maybe the bird is actually the pupal or final stage in the life cycle of Globox's species.

That reminds me the theory that chickens are the result of the evolution of some dinossaurs.

Well chickens are dinosaurs (Dinosauria > Saurischia > Theropoda > Tetanurae > Coelurosauria > Maniraptora > Avialae > Euornithes > Aves > Galliformes > Phasianidae > Phasianinae > Gallus > G. gallus > G. g. domesticus).

OK, now I am sure they are. I did hear this many long time ago so I wasn't sure and I didn't want to sound stupid either.

Also, notice how both species of Globox himself and the bird have in common: they can swallow any kind of thing.

I was about to say that I was highly doubting that you knew this by heart. :mryellow:

Anyway, the source to proof is very good so now I am more than sure that they are dinossaurs. :P

The Glute: Jumping bird, the glute is mostly found around towns and villages where it looks for food. In spite of its spindly build, the glute is able to swallow everything: animal, vegetable, stone, metal… In fact, it is used as a garbage chute amongst certain Teensie populations.
Based on this booklet, it was already pointed out that the blue bird in the Xowar room is very likely to be called a glute. Now we actually have proof of that.
Called it.
At least, I think I did.

Sorry to bump, but has anyone ripped Globox's model from Rayman 2? If so, could the polycount be checked against Globox's "cutting edge of 3D technology" joke in HHQ?

The wiki is wrong.

The name of the Glute's species is Globox.

So, the name of the article should be Globox (species) ?

That would mean that the species is called Globox too and I'm not too sure about that.

I feel this question is as valid now as ever:

I think there is some things which prove it in Rayman 2.
