Re: Rayman 1
Agreed. It's a boss fight with phases, things to overcome, not simply an endurance test. It's the kind of thing which I enjoyed having to try and and over until I eventually beat it, because I would get a bit farther each time.technology4617 wrote:Space Mama is the most fun boss in the game, especially during the Washing Machine segment, second to Mr. Stone.todpole wrote:-Space Mama is incredibly hard

Re: Rayman 1
What I hate about Rayman Advanced is how much easier it is than the others - most notably the boss fights. When you die righting a boss, its health doesn't replenish and you can pick up where you left off. And then there's Skops, where you can just stand on a cloud instead of hanging from a ledge in the first phase.
How dare they ruin the challenge of a perfectly good boss fight! Someone please tell me Mister Dark's Dare won't hold my hand like the other bosses.

Well, they did give you a health boost in the middle of the fight.MisterDark'sFanClub wrote:Someone please tell me Mister Dark's Dare won't hold my hand like the other bosses.
But, I disliked the changing of the bosses too, and feel that their difficulty was part of the thing that made them memorable.

Yes, very memorable! Do you know how long it took me just to defeat Mr. Sax?! When I finally did, I hopped around with my hands in the air just like Rayman and went, "Ooh ooh!!"technology4617 wrote:Well, they did give you a health boost in the middle of the fight.MisterDark'sFanClub wrote:Someone please tell me Mister Dark's Dare won't hold my hand like the other bosses.

In Advanced, you don't really get that same celebratory feeling.
Re: Rayman 1
Space Mama is one of the best fights of the game, despite of its initial difficulty for a first-timer in the game but my favourite boss is Mr. Skops.

Re: Rayman 1
But Skops is easy and only involves punching and jumping occasionally.Haruka wrote:Space Mama is one of the best fights of the game, despite of its initial difficulty for a first-timer in the game but my favourite boss is Mr. Skops.
Re: Rayman 1
I personally like it because of the music and how the battle is phased in two parts, being the first one a dangerous phase of dodging the falling platforms and Skops' pincer. I really find it cool.

By the way, just to know, who would like to contribute to the Rayman 1 HD project and with what ( graphics, animation, programming etc. )? It would be also good to have plans as for what to implement in the game and how to expand it and make it more comfortable in terms of gameplay.
Re: Rayman 1
I have spent a lot of hours making this image, any opinions you have about it?

Re: Rayman 1
A very nice effort, though a tad too bright methinks, needs to be a little more subdued. The mouth of one of the crickets looks a little goofy and Rayman's eye-lids look a bit baggy. I think you need to draw in a few outlines also, just to give a more defined look to the piece, as it does look a tad flat in some places.
Re: Rayman 1
Thanks for the critics! The crickets were actually the last part I've done so i just rushed through them in order to finally finish it. Also I see what you mean by Rayman's eyes and the outlines, but I actually wanted to make Rayman's eyes and nose brighter, as they're a bit dark compared to the original one.Master wrote:A very nice effort, though a tad too bright methinks, needs to be a little more subdued. This game is definitely harder than Rayman 2, 3 or Origins lol, well, at least I find it hard, still haven't finished it.

Re: Rayman 1
Nice, Rayrobi! Though, I really think that it needs the lineart.
Re: Rayman 1
I like it a lot, but I think the crickets need a little tweak and perhaps the drawing needs lineart work.Rayrobi wrote:I have spent a lot of hours making this image, any opinions you have about it?

Re: Rayman 1
Ah, lineart, that's the word I was looking for when I said outline.
Re: Rayman 1
Thanks for your opinions, though I was planning to add lineart and rework the crickets ( since those were the last part ( and most hasty one )) and I was trying to smoothen the shading on the eyes. It will be redone so don't worry about it.
Re: Rayman 1
Hello everyone. I remember you all, great to see you again
I posted a brief message on Rayman Legends if you could check it out. Thanks
Re: Rayman 1
Hello, I don't know you from before but you seem like a nice fella. Welcome back.
