Re: Off Topic
I have my hopes that Win 9 will improve even more now.
Re: Off Topic
OCG, could you please add “yt:stretch=4:3” to your video tags in YouTube? Feel free to record at 16:9, but then PLEASE stretch the video back by using that YouTube tag! Thank you.

Fifo, now you're just acting like a control freak, he's not obligated to do anything for you. If his content bothers you so much, then seek a viable alternative and stop harassing him.

That would totally ruin the aspect ratio of my OCG watermark that I put in right corner of my videos.Fifo wrote:OCG, could you please add “yt:stretch=4:3” to your video tags in YouTube? Feel free to record at 16:9, but then PLEASE stretch the video back by using that YouTube tag! Thank you.
Re: Off Topic
Or if you wouldn’t like to ruin your watermark, change the editing dimensions in Camtasia to 640x480, 720x576 or even 1920x1440 and your watermark’s aspect ratio should be preserved.OldClassicGamer wrote:That would totally ruin the aspect ratio of my OCG watermark that I put in right corner of my videos.Fifo wrote:OCG, could you please add “yt:stretch=4:3” to your video tags in YouTube? And, Master, I’m not doing anything bad!

Re: Off Topic
My intro and outro are made for 16:9 aspect ratio, if I forced them to 4:3 it would look very squashed. And there is no way I would bother a person who made them for me to make 4:3 version because one person on YouTube prefers 4:3. To tell you the truth, for the 3 years I am on YouTube you are first person to complain about this. Take me for example. I don't like Black bars but I still watch people who upload videos like that (Haruka for example) and you don't see me telling those people what to do with their videos. I can give my opinion first time (like when emshomar decided to swich his videos to 4:3) but I won't constantly bring it up again.
Re: Off Topic
Then, okay, I won’t be asking for 4:3, but old games are supposed to run at 4:3 or 5:4. Stretching footage to 16:9 just ruins the picture. It’s okay, but it’s a little annoying for me. But if you want to stretch videos, do so. I won’t warn you anymore. But, again, it’s a little annoying.OldClassicGamer wrote:My intro and outro are made for 16:9 aspect ratio, if I forced them to 4:3 it would look very squashed. This actually is the last warning. I won’t warn him anymore.Master wrote:Fifo, now you're just acting like a control freak, he's not obligated to do anything for you. If his content bothers you so much, then seek a viable alternative and stop harassing him.

Re: Off Topic
Fifo, I had previously mentioned to you that you shouldn't demand such things and that making a suggestion would be better. It'd be far more polite and wouldn't be considered rude.
Besides, there's always worse on YouTube.

A nice start would be to eliminate Metro on desktop/laptop versions of Windows, or at least let people disable it and have a start menu just like we had on Windows 7... or better yet, bring back the entire Windows 7 user interface. It looks far much better in my opinion.OldClassicGamer wrote:I have my hopes that Win 9 will improve even more now.

I admit, eye-candy or not, I do prefer the glassy Aero to the flatter Metro.
Re: Off Topic
I prefer classic always, even on Win 7

Re: Off Topic
The classic does work out nicely, just too bad Microsoft were too stubborn to leave it as an option like they had since Windows XP.

Re: Off Topic
Ahh, the ol' beige. I can appreciate why some would prefer it, it's definitely no-nonsense and for those who aren't as keen with the slight subtraction of performance needed for Aero. More a matter of taste, hm?
Though I'm curious, can you imagine Classic Metro?

Well for all we know, OCG has his classic task bar orange or something.
Or mimic the classic Windows 95/98 Plus themes.

I'm too used to Aero now but I miss these times:

Inside Your Computer theme was a definite favorite of mine. I also enjoyed the jungle one too.

Re: Off Topic
Agreed! I don't really understand Microsoft's motivation to 'avoid skeuomorphism', I really like that sort of thing personally, and I don't understand why that's some kind of a problem in the first place; at least before, they had the option to have it on or not to suit everybody's preference. The recent decisions to 'unify' all workflows and designs into one is an inherently flawed concept. No leader can ever achieve world piece while only believing in a sole ideal, and no operating system can achieve universal appeal when doing the same.Master wrote:I admit, eye-candy or not, I do prefer the glassy Aero to the flatter Metro.

Exactly, well said, Ad.
This is why freedom of choice is most ideal, freedom of customization.

Re: Off Topic
Hmm, it'd be neat if MS did open up customisation beyond mere colourisation.
