You have seen nothing from Sonic CD
This is what you get as when you type sound test combination:

The US version sound more creepier than the JP and EU version.
Quite so, but in terms of overall soundtrack, I prefer the JP/EU version. While we're on the topic of Sonic speaking in CD, didn't he also exclaim "yes!" whenever he got a power-up?

Source? I want to read.
I tried finding it but no luck. I just remember that someone on YouTube said it is the main reason why XBLA, Steam and PSN versions don't have that. If any Sonic fan here can find the source it would be appreciate it.
I always thought that the reason they didn't have it in was licensing issues with the US OST overall. Though the 2011 remake did have it in, was it removed in that one?
There were no licencing issues with US OST at all. All songs are included. Issue was with Japanese opening and ending. They had to cut lyrics because Casey Rankin who was singing them died. Remake let's you choose which OST you want to listen. If you select US one, than everything is same like in Sega CD release, if you choose Japanese one, everything is same except opening and ending song which don't have lyrics.

No, I was referring to how all compilations prior to the 2011 remake used only the JP OST. I know that the 2011 version gives you a choice, I was wondering if the US Game Over music was altogether removed, even if one were to use the US OST in it.
What is weird about Sonic Gems Collection is that the game was released only in Japan and Europe, yet the EU release has American Soundtrack despite the EU version on Sega CD having same Soundtrack like Japanese version.
Still, I think that Sonic talk should end on R1 topic.
Meh, I don't see any pressing need, off-topicness is inevitable in these main topics, and in such cases, said off-topic chat can be rather intriguing. But if it bugs you so, then perhaps we ought to shift to the Sonic thread.
Nah, it does not bug me personally, I am just not sure how others would react to it. It's not up to me if it goes in Sonic thread or not so whatever happens I would not complain and plus I have no right to do it.
Oh boy.
I don't know what to make of this. Knowing that people do stuff like that to their body is weird and terrifying, yet I suppose it's kinda cool. In a way.
