OK, it seems that in PS2, the hole is reached through a glitch. At least in both Dreamcast and 3DS you can trigger a crate with a button combination.

Isn't it a bit odd that they've released it for 3DS?

Why would they release it for 3DS? It's an old game now, it's just a way of boosting sales I suppose...

Then is it pointless that PlayStation Store sells Rayman 1 for PS3/PSP consoles? The question is rethorical by the way.

It's better to have game re-released than game being forgotten in time. I might prefer hunting physical old copies, but I appreciate re-releases very much and I know they are important.

Yeah I think it's a good idea to re-release it to keep it fresh, but I just thought it was kind of odd how it was a main game title for the 3DS. It should be one of those releases that comes a bit later :P

Ubi's not been shy when it comes to releasing Rayman 2, one can actually play two versions of Rayman 2 on the 3DS, the decent but a little buggy Rayman 3D, and the terrible port, Rayman DS.

They're really just going off the nostalgic value :P Rayman 3 doesn't have the same level of nostalgia

I don't know what's worse, the fact that R3 hasn't gotten the same attention, or that when it did get attention, Ubi made one major mess-up in porting it over.

Hm, maybe that means the secret is present in all versions, but just requires some very specific triggers. Has anyone tried to get this to work in the PC version? It looked like it was quite hard to get it right in the DC version, so maybe the same applies for PC.

Anyway, what are those cryptic messages inside the hallway? Are they clues as to where powerups can be found in the game? They all seem like vaguely familiar places, but I can't quite put my finger on any of them. "Push a tree", "shoot a bridge" ...?

Has it been established that the PS2 version is the same or different to the other versions? I'd like to know because Superlol almost gave me nightmares with his vague account of his attempts to enter the hole in that version.

The fella who said he saw an angry face or something? Lagrogne just posted a video getting into it in the PS2 version, you can find it on the previous page. It's pretty much identical to the N64 one, no secret messages like the DC version.

Okay, I proved that PC version does have the secret, I accessed it by cheats.

Right, so with this, every single core version which contains the hole has now had it accessed.

Yes indeed. It wouldn't have occurred to me to be scared if he himself hadn't used the word "scary" in his post. Apart from that, when I was younger, I was always somehow crept out about glitches and going out of bounds and things not being as they should in games in general. That kind of brought it all back for some reason.

EDIT: I watched it, and I get it now. The way in which the ferns in front of the hole mask the wall make it look kind of like a face. :P

I just saw an old Finnish channel bumper for Nelonen (channel 4) and I think I saw a reference to Rayman 2. But propably it's just a coincidence, but it's a weird one. Really weird.

Look at 0:03.. and hear. Random. So random. Seems and sounds like keg flying.

PS. Don't make judgements about Finns weird taste on channel branding based on that weird bumper, nowadays the channel has really nice ones.
