Re: Something Bothering you?/Daily Doldrums
Not really much of anything specific, but I have a cycling feeling of depression and feel rather unsure or unconfident in just about everything lately. I just doubt that I am doing or can do anything worthwhile. Not to mention, on the project I'm working on, (a dream of developing a video game someday, if you must ask. A lot of gamers probably share this dream, no doubt.) I feel rather unsure creatively and can't seem to find true inspiration. I have a few rough concepts, but none of it really is coming together in fruition, further increasing the aforementioned emotions.

I can relate, except my family is the source of my depression and it hurts my artwork (and overall ability to function in general)
Re: Something Bothering you?/Daily Doldrums
I just decided that I will never put anything to sell on eBay after what happened this morning.
After reading a little about how to put things to sell on eBay, I decided to try out to put one product to see how it would work. Due to its nature, I would have to pay 0,49€ as a submission fee. Since eBay has got in their help page that the fees can be paid through the PayPal balance, I got like "OK, if I can pay like that, then I'll transfer a bit of money from my bank account to PayPal and like this I pay the fee to them.".
Now the problems started to appear at the moment of paying. The PayPal page was redirecting me to "Add a Credit/Debit Card", without any other option to show. I was repeating the process and it was always redirecting me to this single option. Scared, I immediately took down the product from the site with hopes that I wouldn't have to pay anything, but the fee was still there. I contacted an agent through the eBay Costumer Support Chat to give me some clarifications about this problem. The guy didn't really seem to understand my problem and not even bothering because he was slow to reply and was barely giving the replies I was hoping to be more adequate. "Contact PayPal", it was the reply I got. I sent an e-mail to PayPal shortly after.
Right after, I asked help to Stacey since she sold stuff on eBay before and she was able to find me a section called "One-Time Payment" option, which seemed to take money directly from my PayPal Balance, but the problems weren't ending here. As soon as I was trying, it was always asking me for the valour in British Pounds while right after I submit the ammount they say "We're sorry, but we only accept Euros and Dollars". I mean, what the hell? Then why they are asking me Pounds in first place? Then Stace found me other section which would fix this problem, which was to change the billing currency. Guess what? When I selected the Euro currency, it was giving an error and "to try again later or to contact the support". I contacted an agent for the second time, who was much more competent and faster to reply. He solved me the billing address after I explained my problem and removed the invoice of the 0,49€. Problem finally solved.
To end, PayPal sent me an e-mail a while ago, and they told me that PayPal fees were only paid through credit card or debit card, that it wasn't possible to do it with PayPal balance so they asked me appologies for any inconvenience caused. Conclusion, eBay is a big liar. They display a fake information that fees that be paid through PayPal balance. Bullshit. PayPal confirmed me the contrary.
Now imagine if I suddenly have put some objects up to sell and suddenly I notice that I have a considerable ammount of fees to pay to eBay and I couldn't do anything due to lack of credit card. I would have my account suspended for a stupid situation, of eBay's fault for giving fake informations to their costumers and then who would be responsabilized in the end for the loss of my account?
And so, here's my warning if any of you who is reading is thinking to do something similar: please don't.
Seriously. What they just won is the fact I'll never ever sell anything in their website, just buying, because at least it accepts payments through PayPal balance. Freaking idiots.

Re: Something Bothering you?/Daily Doldrums
That is the biggest bullshit I read. Thats why I stick with American eBay which allows you to pay fees from PayPal Balance and you pay after selling and not before.
Perhaps they did not change display information for UK eBay but they changed rules. I would suggest you in future to try to put auction on American eBay with logging on ebay.com instead of ebay.co.uk. But I understand how you feel now and that you do not wish to try it again on any eBay site.
Still, I see no reason why is eBay not same in all countries and why is Portugal not officially supported.

@ Haruka :
You should try PRICEMINISTER than eBay

Price Minister does not accept PayPal at all.
Re: Something Bothering you?/Daily Doldrums
My local websites fortunately don't charge anything to submit something.
Re: Something Bothering you?/Daily Doldrums
I have very few local websites, two of them (owned by same person) charge only after sale, but one of them is completely free of use.

Hmm.. it seems that eBay is from country to country different. Submitting an offer with start price of 1€ is for free here (almost; after it gets sold, they will take 7% of the article price as a provision). I have less problems selling stuff on eBay, even as an underager, because the fees will be charged directly on my bank account without PayPal. And I am glad that it is so because as an underager I shouldn't be allowed to have a PayPal account.
Re: Something Bothering you?/Daily Doldrums
Speaking of PayPal,
I can confirm that Slovenian PayPal account does not ask for age at all during registration and that they accept US Bank Account only.

She clearly hates you for some reason more than she hates other students which is unfair and she should be fired.

But she gave a student a grade lower than he thinks he deserves! Losing her career is clearly not punishment enough. She should obviously be executed and have her head put on a pike.OldClassicGamer wrote:She clearly hates you for some reason more than she hates other students which is unfair and she should be fired.

Anyways,
She has no rights to give F to person who did some work and tried. F is for people who absolute did not put any effort or didn't do anything.spiraldoor wrote:But she gave a student a grade lower than he thinks he deserves!

Lol, Spiral. I gotta admit that was pretty funny.
Though it does suck when a teacher acts like that. I had a teacher in like... Second grade that hated me. Always calling me a baby and make crying noises at me, asking if I need a diaper. No joke, a school teacher behaving like this. She had one other teacher in on it with her!
Kindergarden and first grade teachers were great, though.

Lolwut? Grades have nothing to do with effort, they're about results. Most schools have a separate category for effort/participation (my school, from best to worst, had O, S and N (Outstanding, Satisfactory, Neglected)).OldClassicGamer wrote:She has no rights to give F to person who did some work and tried. However, I don't understand why emshomar would get an F. The English teacher would probably have to be far worse at English than her own students to not even understand what he's saying, he really should be getting at least a B.

Re: Something Bothering you?/Daily Doldrums
I find the whole concept of grades retarded anyways. School, evidently, is supposed to be about acquiring knowledge. So instead of pressuring students and have them worry about nothing but grades and turning shit in, they should instead focus on the actual fucking material and correct students' mistakes without puishing tem for it by giving them a bad grade. I don't know about any of you, but I find it exremely stupid that my entire future depends on what letter I got out of a set.
That, and at least 80% of what I "learn" in school is shit I've never used nor will I ever, so I'm not exactly peachy about the fact that so much precious time that I'll never get back (Even more importantly, my childhood and adolescent years) is being wasted. Speaking of wastes of time, there's no English Class in m school, rather there's language and literature, which are two "different" classes. Like advisory, this is just another way to suck out our time, because clearly none of us have lives outside of school so why bother giving us freedom/rights for a longer period of time.
Bleh, I just whine too much. And I'n actually happy right now, so you can only imagine how emo I get when I'm truly depressed
