I'd like to think that these two would have strong elements of Emerald in it, perhaps having both teams be active but at the climax the mascot team over powers them. Then again it's still a mystery if these even are straight up remakes since the trailer does say "new world".rolesfamily wrote:Well it's a possibility, because Emerald was really the best of both worlds when it came to R & S. We'll see, I always tend to wait with new Pokemon releases just incase they make an add-on version.Serza5 wrote:You think they'd remake Emerald too? There hasn't exactly been any "Water Blue" or "Mind Crystal" out before.
This is super cool though.
When the time comes when I get round to buying these games, I'll get Ruby because that's the one I had as a kid. Also Team Magma rocks.

Re: General Pokémon Thread
@Serza - Hm, that's true actually. They refined the game through Emerald so I suppose there's no need to do the same again with the 3DS versions. I hope it's not a totally new version of Hoen, because the old one was pretty damn awesome.

You're such a tease.Hoodcom wrote:What devices are those, Serza?

and from what I know the GBA one is a trading device. They don't really need a device since the 3DS is pretty advanced right?
pardon the advanced word

Re: General Pokémon Thread
@ Hoodcom: The top one was a thing that allowed wireless connections between GBA's. While the middle one is a Poke Walker, which is basically a pedometer which allowed you to level pokemon and get various in game goodies.

How exactly does the Poke Walker connect with the handheld then? Cable?

Re: General Pokémon Thread
On what Role's said on the previous page, they don't remake the third versions, instead, they bring over most of the third version additions in the remade paired versions. For instance, HG and SS had those encounters with Eusine, that didn't happen in Gold and Silver, only in Crystal (the third version for that lot).
And yeah, the cartridges for HGSS had IR built in for the Pokewalker, I think BW and BW2 did too, but that was for IR connection between the games, and not an external accessory.

Re: General Pokémon Thread
We also have another charming question; Who's gonna be the champion?
Re: General Pokémon Thread
I learnt about this few minutes from a classmate before starting the first class of the day. I jumped of excitement. Oh boy, I am super happy
! Hoenn is my second favourite generation. I can't wait to see footages of it. I have yet to decide which version I'll grab though (and start saving for it too). Day one purchase, definitely!

Re: General Pokémon Thread
The remakes have just been announced so it's hard to say, not to mention you'll need to wait til November to get them.
I would say get X/Y for the time being, if you can. It'll at least prep you up for remakes.

Re: General Pokémon Thread
Ah thanks. I knew about the release dates (should have mentioned that) so I guess I'll go with your advice.

So are these for sure remakes then or is that still in question?Serza5 wrote:The remakes have just been announced so it's hard to say, not to mention you'll need to wait til November to get them.
Re: General Pokémon Thread
I'm pretty sure they're remakes. Or if not, they take place after Ruby/Sapphire.

Re: General Pokémon Thread
I think that's the general consensus at the moment, I think I'd actually prefer the sequel route.
