Yep, still no luck unfortunately. I was actually quite offended when we were at my brother's birthday dinner, and both he and my mother were almost laughing when they said that they felt nothing at all when she disappeared. No, not in a totally inhumane and sociopathic way, but in a way that immediately made the situation uncomfortable and unbelievable.

- I'm doing a school project for a "zombie movie" with teachers that could give half a shit about its quality.
- My art teacher is blaming me for her incompetence, as she can't figure out how to do basic things in Premiere, and claims that I would "know how to do all this" if I used Premiere, even though I'm a student and shouldn't be troubleshooting every-fucking-one in the first place! She also thinks that every single problem that I have with the program (that I've never used before, mind you) has to do with my trying to render shit as something that "isn't an MPEG" (apparently anything other than the DV preset isn't an MPEG, even though I'm trying to save as a fucking AVCHD .m2t file). And now we're going to go back to rendering "as an MPEG" as that will make "everything easier," even when I explain ad nauseam that I've never used the program before, that I would encounter the same confusion rendering using the DV preset, and that it wouldn't be any more difficult for her to edit AVCHD files. She says I can render an AVCHD file if I so desire, even though format differences will cause even more issues when producing the final product.
- As you can tell, I really fucking love my school.

+/- I reached a "compromise" with the teachers. They're asking everyone to render at 1920x1080i MPEG-2 (noooo, not AVCHD, the more recent and more efficient format), so it won't look like total shit after it's rendered, but it still doesn't match the camera's resolution (anamorphic 1440x1080i). (They don't listen because they think I want them to render in a "complicated format.")
- It's turning out to be one long Resident Evil FMV. What did I expect, I suppose.

If by that, you mean teachers telling you repeatedly to "save as an MPEG."

- Some black guy (normally this would be irrelevant, but it's important to note for the following) came to our doorstep today, banging really loudly and incessantly on the door. My mother answered the door, holding the dog, and after she tried to reach out to shake his hand (difficult since my dog was making a big fuss), he accused us of being "racially activated," and started moaning about "all the Asians in the neighborhood" being racist against him. (Ironically, the racist is accusing us of being racist, which was also doubly offensive since my mother and I are both part Japanese.) My mother then slammed the door in his face after he started becoming increasingly hostile, and he then left.

Call me paranoid, but I'm honestly legitimately worried about my safety now, and am currently wondering if the whole thing was a ruse to map out a burglary or some shit (or that the guy's just crazy and will hunt us down later on). It's probably nothing, but I'm pretty scared nonetheless, as the odds of that guy being a psychopath are quite a bit higher than I'd like them to be, and since the consequences of that being true will undoubtedly be massive.

+ Luckily, we called the police, and (hopefully) they'll be sending a car over to patrol the area.
