Now Rayman M with online features would definitely be an amazing spin off I'd like.TeensieKing wrote:They'll probably release a third RO sequel. Personally, I love the idea of a sequel to Rayman M with new characters and a proper online mode. Maybe there could be more racers per race, like 8 or something? Just to spice things up a bit. A new 3D platformer would be awesome as well.

Re: Future Rayman games
One not pick for me is why would there be lives in the next game? Wasn't it that Ancel said he didn't want to add lives because he didn't want the players to be forcibly ejected from the game?

Hmm, if they switch back to 3D, I'd like them to use the ol' simple healthbar system. For 2D however, I have no qualms with the system used by Origins and Legends.
Re: Future Rayman games
That's one of my favorite mechanics from the franchise, you can try as long as you like. Unless it's Rayman 1.

Re: Future Rayman games
Here's a little curiosity, what if they ever decide to add new lums in? Golden lums, white lums, orange lums etc etc. It seems unlikely because most are just different tints of already existing lum colours.

Re: Future Rayman games
Meh, I'd rather that if they do add new Lum colourations, they serve a reasonable purpose as opposed to being there for the sake of being there. Each of the five lum colours in Rayman 2 corresponded to either a gameplay or story aspect. As for the RO Lums, I consider them to be a another type of Lum in addition to those from Rayman 2. And again, they serve a purpose as a gameplay mechanic, they're needed to gain electoons and other items in order to progress further.

Re: Future Rayman games
Well obviously they'd get a purpose, just not sure on what.
I'd say for something like a white lum, they could possibly be the origin of light? Perhaps golden lums could hold one's entire magical power?

Re: Future Rayman games
I'd like a new game that focuses on Rayman as a character. The new games are great fun and I love the option to play as a lot of different characters, but I feel it takes away from Rayman's significance as the hero of the story. I'd like to see a new game with a decent plot that fleshed out Rayman's personality a bit like R2 and R3 did.
Re: Future Rayman games
What if the third UbiArt game isn't directed by Ancel himself? Just like what happened with Rayman 3.
Re: Future Rayman games
I don't think Ancel will let that happen again. He said R3 ended up nothing how he would do it. Which explains why is R3 so much different than the rest of games.

I feel bad now because I really liked Rayman 3.OldClassicGamer wrote:I don't think Ancel will let that happen again. He said R3 ended up nothing how he would do it. Which explains why is R3 so much different than the rest of games.
Re: Future Rayman games
Overall, it is really good game but it really makes me wonder how would Ancel make his own Rayman 3.
Also, the reason why we never saw Knaaren in other games is probably because Ancel disliked them, although this cannot be 100% confirmed since he never stated what he disliked about game or even if he disliked it a lot. He just said he would do it much different himself.

Re: Future Rayman games
I wouldn't say that so heartfully, while it is true that Ancel probably would have done it differently, in light of his own UbiArt saga, and the tonal shift it induced, I'd say Rayman 3 sticks decently to the original lot much more soundly in comparison. That being said, I'm not really fussed, I know Ancel makes good games with good heart, but sometimes a differing perspective is optimal in order to strike new ground and explore other areas.

Re: Future Rayman games
Really? I personally think R2 is the most different from the rest. It's so dark and angsty, totally different from the other wacky games of the franchise. (Which is also why it's my favorite hue.)OldClassicGamer wrote:I don't think Ancel will let that happen again. He said R3 ended up nothing how he would do it. Re: Future Rayman games
I can't see what so angsty about it. I can see the dark element to the story but it still seems light-hearted. :/

Re: Future Rayman games
That one's just straight up weird.
Re: Future Rayman games
Whats weird about a limbless hero fight giant limbless Miskitos, rock monsters, space pirates, a giant scorpion, and fighting a mysterious villain in a land made of deserts?Bradandez wrote:That one's just straight up weird.

Ah yes, I believe the Wiki calls them Tentacle-flowers. They're pretty zany indeed.
