Has anyone here ever discussed that odd present box right near the up-left corner of Mr Sax's Hullaballoo on the map? I've always wondered what it is, another unexplained surreal world that never got in the real gme perhaps?
Or just something random to put in there?

I'm currently playing Rayman 1 from a brand-new save file without a walkthrough and without cheating. Got all 6 cages in the Swamps of Forgetfulness and the Pink Plant Woods.

I thought it was part of Candy Chatuea. It seemed fitting because that's what the clowns had to release their bombs.

Ah, the one that only appears in PS1 version, yup. I think there's been plenty discussion before on it.

Yeah, we've analysed pretty much every aspect of the old games in great detail. The flying present (hot air balloon?) is only in the PS1 version, and maybe a couple of others. Most versions just have the sun visible in that corner. We once speculated that it was a secret level, but that's obviously not true. A few years ago Stacey came up with the idea that the Breakout minigame takes place inside it, being a "present" from the Magician with no clear spatial connection to the rest of the game world. I like that idea.

Hehe, thanks, I guess. Though of all the factoids presented on that page, I think there's only one I wasn't aware of, and that's the one regarding Ancel's salary.

On a different note:
http://www.twitch.tv/ensgmaster/profile (Him and Spike also have some nice Legends and Origins runs.)
http://www.twitch.tv/spikevegeta/profile (Not playing it actively right now, but is still awesome nonetheless, and is the only runner of the four that actually plays the game on console. So, arguably, he has the legit WR at the moment.)
http://www.twitch.tv/dot_flac/profile (WR holder)
http://www.twitch.tv/fuerchter/profile [b(]Slowest PB out of the four, but you guys should check him out nonetheless.)[/b]

Anyone interested in speedruns of this game should give these guys a follow. All of them make really kickass runs of the game, better than anything I could do at the moment (still practicing, guys ;) ).

I'm also planning on trying to run the game again in the future, when I get an actual system, so give me a follow if you so desire. :P http://www.twitch.tv/technology4617/profile I'm also planning on attempting a single-segment no death run of the game (on console), which was the "project" I was talking about in the walkthroughs thread. ;) I might even attempt no damage if I get good enough.

Odd. Seems oddly familiar, like I have heard that exact track in reverse before, which I doubt.
