Being a Pokemon fan, I shall partake in this thread.
Re: General Pokémon Thread
I only participated in an non-official competition before, back in the GBA era but I mostly participate for fun.

When I get X I think I'll have a go at battling online.
I've got the most annoying Starmie on the planet. Trust me.

Starmie is a nice PKMN in my opinion. I also enjoy Golduck.

My Starmie perfect moveset:
double team
recover
toxic
surf
Strategy:
Toxic them
set up double team to the max, recover when you need to
then just surf them to death. everytime they hit you (rarely gonna happen) you recover.
I've pissed off my friends with this strategy so many times

Actually, minimize is like a double double team, but it's only learnable through Staryu.rolesfamily wrote:Close!JeffreyHikariKurai wrote:Minimize?rolesfamily wrote:When I get X I think I'll have a go at battling online.

Re: General Pokémon Thread
I'd replace surf & toxic with scald; while there's less of a chance of scald managing to burn it's a much better status condition simply for the added effect of decreasing the opponent's attack stat. Sure enough it doesn't work on fire types but if you have a good Starmie it should be dead from the scald attack anyway. This would also leave space for a much needed psychic stab move.rolesfamily wrote: Close!

EDIT: I should also add that overall it sounds like the standard pre-gen 5 moveset for Milotic.

Re: General Pokémon Thread
Milotic had a similar move-set? That's pretty cool I never knew that. Ugh, I thought I was original!Serza5 wrote:I'd replace surf & toxic with scald; while there's less of a chance of scald managing to burn it's a much better status condition simply for the added effect of decreasing the opponent's attack stat. Yeah, that is one weakenss with that set-up is the missing psychic move. I think you're pretty spot on with scald. May have to try that and see if I get on with it better
thanks

Re: General Pokémon Thread
It's actually almost the exact same move set Wallace had in Emerald; only he had Ice Beam in place of Double Team which gets rid of pesky grass types (unfortunately).

Re: General Pokémon Thread
It's does take a while to set-up properly, but if you get all the double teams in you're pretty much bullet proof.Serza5 wrote:It's actually almost the exact same move set Wallace had in Emerald; only he had Ice Beam in place of Double Team which gets rid of pesky grass types (unfortunately).

Re: General Pokémon Thread
The only thing is that double team is banned in competitive tournaments, including official ones I do believe. (Although i'm aware of it's epicness; it's been my strategy for Colosseum when it comes to snagging Pokemon, or smokescreen rather).

Re: General Pokémon Thread
Ah damn, well that sucks :p Is Wabbufett still banned? I remember that pokemon was banned for a while. Well it looks like I'll just have to think about another strategySerza5 wrote:The only thing is that double team is banned in competitive tournaments, including official ones I do believe. Re: General Pokémon Thread
Wobbufett is an uber. Mirror Coat, Destiny Bond, Arena Trap, lots of HP... these things pretty much say everything.

Wasn't it a move like counter or something that got it banned? Something odd like thatHaruka wrote:Wobbufett is an uber. Mirror Coat, Destiny Bond, Arena Trap, lots of HP... these things pretty much say everything.

Re: General Pokémon Thread
Banned mostly just refers to the Smogon community and you don't really HAVE to follow them, which I don't. I think it might be banned in official VGC (some of the sets and evasion moves) but I'm not too sure.

Re: General Pokémon Thread
Now i'm not one for speculation articles but IGN reported that "Pokemon Delta Emerald" has been trademarked : http://www.ign.com/articles/2014/05/29/ ... k-surfaces
It's worth noting that Game Freak trademarks most potential "remake names" (Like Water Blue and such) but it's still one to ponder.

Very unlikely or else they're really thirsty for money, I think I discussed this in a previous page.Serza5 wrote:Now i'm not one for speculation articles but IGN reported that "Pokemon Delta Emerald" has been trademarked : http://www.ign.com/articles/2014/05/29/ ... k-surfaces
