Re: E3 2014
I found it quite surprising that they announced they're remaking the first Ratchet and Clank game for PS4 "the game will share the film’s vision of Ratchet’s origin story, and features updated gameplay along with completely new visuals that rival the best PS4 games on the market." Hope we see footage of it soon.

Re: E3 2014
Jontron woo. Anyway, the things that I'm super hyped for so far:
Ratchet & Clank Movie
Far Cry 4
Mirror's Edge 2
Uncharted 4
Assassin's Creed Unity
Things I'm happy about:
Ratchet & Clank Remake
Battlefield Hardline (Looks a lot like Battlefield 4 but I didn't get that one so I'm fine with that xD)
LittleBigPlanet 3
Grand Theft Auto 5 Remastered
Might have missed some things but all in all I'm kind of disappointed with this year's E3, I mean I know last year was the announcement of the new generation fo consoles but I still feel like something was missing this year. Just didn't really do it for me. :/
EDIT: Have we seen anything from Bethesda yet?

Microsoft's E3. The whole thing was just screaming "Trendy, right teenagers?!".
I guess Sony's E3 was alright. Basically just getting the expected sequels out of the way, so hopefully next year will bring some more new and interesting games. Now as for Nintendo, they could either pull this off really well or mess it up. I'm not getting high hopes, but I think considering how far the Wii U is since release, it's really about time they start announcing some unexpected and solid titles. Not that Mario Kart/Smash Bros aren't already some real exciting titles for this year, but I'm kinda afraid we're gonna potentially end up with another E3 of Super Mario: World 1 Grass, World 2 Desert, World 3 Ice.

Actually, I'd rather not have them go back to any series regarding an upcoming Mario platformer. I'm kind of thinking it might be possible they'll do another 3D Land/World like game, but I'm more interested in seeing them try something completely new like Sunshine/Galaxy.beebo44 wrote:*Surprise Nintendo announcement, reveals Super Mario Galaxy 3.*

Yea that would be great, I just loved the planet jumping so much, and the disproportionate galaxies and planets xD But yes, something new and interesting would be great. Now I don't have the faintest clue of what something new would mean in a Mario game, considering they've kind of done a lot with him.Keane wrote:Actually, I'd rather not have them go back to any series regarding an upcoming Mario platformer. Re: E3 2014
Microsoft didn't have anything "OHMERGAWD THATS AMAAAAAAZING" for me personally, but aside from the very beginning, they had no real low points in their conference and kept me mildly to moderately interested in each individual title, and the presentation and pacing was really well done.
Sony had a few big hitters for me like LBP3 (IT LOOKS SO FUCKING HAPPY AND IT'S COMING IN A FEW MONTHS) and Uncharted 4 and Anzu, but some of it was remasters of very recent games that while I am excited for, don't show off anything new for the PS4, and the rest was mildly intriguing. Also, a lot of their stuff is not coming out until 2015. They also had a lot of third party stuff and focused way too much on stroking their dicks and Playstation Now and all that jazz in the middle of the conference, as well as the long segment about Powers (don't get me wrong - while it's the first I've heard of the graphic novel series, it sounds really interesting and deserving of a show - however, it's not a game, and that's what I came for). I was also expecting a revival of an old franchise, and I thought we were getting one with that one PS1 music game getting a name drop TWICE (I CANT REMEMBER THE NAME FOR SOME REASON IM SORRY), but nothing came of it. Also, a lot of the games began to bleed together much like Ubisoft's conference, because they were all gritty and shit and didn't show much actual gameplay, if any. They didn't present themselves as well as Microsoft either, and the pacing was kinda bad at points. The conference was definitely longer than it deserved to be.
For Nintendo, I am obviously going to enjoy all of the Smash Bros coverage, and they will win E3 no contest if they pull a UFC and release the 3DS version next week (I can dream). Zelda Wii U and Hyrule Warriors are also getting coverage, and we may see more from Yarn Yoshi and SMT x FE. We'll probably see a new Mario game, as Mario always has SOME sort of presence, but I don't think it will be Galaxy 3 (which should star Rosalina anyway IMO, if it does happen, similar to how Yoshi's Island was a subtitle for "Super Mario World 2" - just make it "Super Mario Galaxy 3: Rosalina's Story" or something - this would mean I could get my next gen Galaxy fix, my favourite Nintendo character/space waifu gets her own series, and the main Mario series could continue doing it's own thing) or a new 3D Mario platformer at all, as I doubt they already have something ready to show. Galaxy 2 was revealed two E3's after Galaxy 1, and HD/3DS dev time could be longer.
I also expect them to announce a DLC program for Mario Kart 8, and to have the first pack available today, for free. The other two companies had "It's out today!" announcements, so Nintendo could use one. And I am hoping for a revival of an unused franchise. We will also learn what the NFC stuff is all about, and Miyamoto's new IP is confirmed to be at the Treehouse stream. So yeah, I'm really pumped for Nintendo, they have a lot of potential.

Re: E3 2014
Pretty much this. This year's conference was disappointing, I hoped for more. No BG&E2 unfortunately. On the other hand I won't lie by saying I was not impressed by some of the other game footages in terms of graphism and the high quality of 3D animation. Shape Up was the wierdest moment.Serza5 wrote:Valiant Hearts look great. But otherwise meh.
I did not miss anything then, maybe with the exception of the R&C thing.Rayfist wrote:Wow... Sony's press conference was fucking horrid. Holy shit, I had such high expectations. THIS was the deciding factor for me to buy a PS4, so what do they show? GTA V remastered was pretty inevitable... and Last of Us Remastered is just a remake. But wow, sony really dropped the bomb, showing a bunch of mediocre shooters. They showed the Ratchet and Clank Movie footage which I was glad about but otherwise I was incredibly disappointed. This was the perfect opportunity to show new games, but most of these new games were just bland shooters and indie titles. Don't get me wrong there were some good parts but overall I'm incredibly disappointed and I STILL have no reason to purchase a PS4 yet. Looking forward to Nintendo tomorrow.
I rate Sony's E3 5/10, I know that may be harsh, but I'm incredibly disappointed, this was going to be the deciding factor for me with purchasing a PS4.
I'm looking forward for Nintendo's this afternoon.

Sonicbrawler, would this music game you're referencing be Parappa the Rapper?
Anyways, myself, well...meh. I can't say I've been really engaged this year by E3, some of Sony's offerings are neat, but they're mostly building upon things that I'm completely familiar with (LBP3, R&C). I liked seeing Arkham Knight, but seeing as that's multiplat, I don't see how I'm supposed to want to run screaming for a PS4. I guess I should be tempted by LBP and R&C, but I dunno, I haven't touched LBP in some time, and I think it's beginning to wear off on me. The R&C game seems to be a remake of the first, and while I have full confidence in Insomniac to deliver a remake in the same vein Ninty delivered Zero Mission for the original Metroid, I'd have hoped for something a little more new.
I skipped MS, but from what I can tell it too seemed to be similar in pleasing the loyal, but less engaging for the prospective, though Project Spark has my interest, Conker or lack thereof. But, again, it is on PC, and I've been eying that medium for quite some time, and have every intention to jump onto in the future.
I'm still very sketchy about the Wii U, Ninty backs it 100%, but unless you're able to have more than one console, which I am not, I have to take into account third party support, which doesn't seem to be as prominent as I'd wish it be. The 3DS, on the other hand, I have complete interest and confidence in, so I'm curious to see what they'll be doing on that front.

Re: E3 2014
Sony's conference was the biggest shit I have seen. They played with my heart recently and what did they do? Made me feel depressed and down. I am NOT gonna buy PS4. Sony is clearly not gonna win E3 this year. Thanks for nothing, thanks for backstabbing me. I never felt this sad. How many hours of sleep did I lost for nothing? I thought that 2014 is gonna be year where everything will go good for me, but this is instead one of the worst times of my life. Thats sadly the reality. I will feel this pain for a long time. None of you can understand my inside feeling now but I don't blame you. I don't feel like doing anything now. I will probably record last part of Crash E3 build today but what will happen with my channel next? I do plan to record Atari Jaguar Rayman LP with Rayfist and Omar but when it will start I have no idea because I feel horrible.
GameScom is now my only hope for feeling better.

It was that one wireframe game where you could take out the game disc, pop in a CD, and it would generate levels based on the music track on the CD. I just can't remember it's name, and it was name dropped at Sony's conference, twice, but nothing came of it.
As for my perspective for gaming in the future, I'll stick to PC for most third party stuff since I have a gaming capable laptop, and my brother has a powerhouse of a PC. As far as consoles, Wii U is the only one that has consistently held my interest. Luckily my brother has a PS4 already, so I'll be buying The Last Of Us Remastered, LBP3, and other games going to the future anyway.

Let's all gain some happiness, Nintendo is approaching with the Fils-a-mech!
Re: E3 2014
I am not gonna be home sadly when it starts so I will watch it as soon as I return home which should be 4 hours after Stream starts. I expect good things. BETTER than all other E3 2014 conferences:

Re: E3 2014
If they announce a Metroid game for Wii U I'll be happy. If it's a first person, Prime style game, I'll be very happy.

Re: E3 2014
A new Star Fox?
Cool! Another thing to look forward to.
I'm positive Nintendo will show the most interesting games this year. So far I've only really liked Grim Fandango' PS4 remaster news (holy shit!) and the co-op footage of AC Unity, since I actually have some friends I could play that with. However, I'm pretty sure I will eventually buy a PS4 for Final Fantasy XV, KH3, the Witcher 3 and Grim Fandango (and hopefully other games).
But if Nintendo plays this right, I might get a Wii U first. That would be if they give us a Zelda U release date. I want that game so badly even though we know nothing about it at all yet. But it's Zelda! Then there's project X which I've been looking forward to. And then there's the possibility that Mistwalker (former FF creator's company) might show up... if that happens it's an insta-buy for me! One can dream
