Re: Lums discussion.
I can only assume because Yellow Lums are a special spectrum out of all the rest, they don't contain the cohesion of the world, nor create breath. They pretty much contain the structure of the entire Glade.

Re: Lums discussion.
I suppose they're a form of power source? Not in the same way as the blue lum; but maybe like an element that makes up things in the world? All I know is that they're a pain in the arse to find all of them LOL

Actually André implies that they can be transmuted. "Soon I'll transform the energy of the Heart into an army of Hoodlums!

Yeah that never really made much sense when he didn't make it to the heart but still had an army of Hoodlums

The army was made of red lums. I assume there was some recycling going on, at least until Rayman got the grimace power.

Re: Lums discussion.
But the R3 Heart is together and when you actually go there, you see it's booming with all kinds of Energies - there's not only the classic yellow of the Yellow Lums that are the Heart when broken; it's a full spectrum of colours, entertaining the possibility that all types of Energy are in flux there: one big pool of lively, vibrant Energy to make up the Heart of Rayman's World.PluMGMK wrote:Actually André implies that they can be transmuted. Re: Lums discussion.
Possibly frightened Lums can turn into Black Lums, but this was only seen with Red ones, we unfortunately didn't see any other Lums. Possibly The Heart is just a huge power source but when scattered, broken or exploded, it turns into the 1000 Yellow Lums.

Re: Lums discussion.
This is interesting. I wouldn't go off too much on information included in a manual - they often contain weird and nonsensical information that the devs themselves didn't even write.Rayman 2 PC Manuèl - English wrote:When Rayman has collected enough [Yellow Lums], he'll be able to negotiate his entry into new worlds.
However, 'negotiating' his way into new worlds is not how I saw the Teensies guide him through the magical doors into the Guardians' sanctuaries. I thought it was that there was a magical seal on the place that simply required Energy to be able to open a Spiral Door into there. But this one sentence puts things in an entirely different perspective.
Are Teensies greedy beings that hoard Yellow Lums like they're currency? Is that why Ray must 'negotiate' his way into new realms? "Well, we could allow you passage, but what do we get in return? Oh, 300 Lums, huh? Nah, that's not enough, bud, come back when you have 450." Are they tollmen?
Haha I won't go too seriously off of this theory, but it's an interesting point that arises from reading that in the manual.

Re: Lums discussion.
They probably meant it more in the sense of "negotiating a path/track".
