What's soccer?
I am not from UK so I use term "Soccer" for Football :P
I'm pretty sure we're not the only place in the world who prefers using that term.

Varela saved everything. I'm disappointed with Ronaldo, he had no excuses to miss the goal when he was alone with Howard. But I also noticed that Ronaldo is pissed about himself for not managing to do a lot in that match.

I was also pretty mad how the portuguese team was letting the americans to enter so much close their own area. I knew it would be a mistake, and I was sadly right.

Japan is playing tomorrow against Columbia. Time for more frustration while watching, like it was not enough in past.

How can he keep thinking he'll get away with it?

It's the third time he did this in his entire career, and the second time in only year. Last time, he couldn't play during ten matches into the Premier League (GB League).

Do not forget he also enabled Uruguay to amke it to the semifinals of WC2010 because he stopped a goal in the quarterfinals with his hand and took a red card for it...

France is playing today. They are strong this year, they crushed Switzerland which is currently 6th in FIFA rankings. They took 5 goals in 70 minutes. I think we can beat Ecuador and finish first in our group to avoid Argentina and play against Nigeria in the next round.

Portugal was eliminated. The second part of the match was very disappointing.

Well, I also have faith that Germany and the US will be eliminated too soon or later.

The United States are not going to make it to the semifinals. Maybe the quarterfinals if they are lucky against Belgium, but after that, no way.

Abotu Germany, I completely disagree with you. Germany has been the most consistent national soccer team in the last past decade. They are the only team which has been to the semifinals of each one of the last three World Cup. Even Brazil, Argentina or Spain didn't do that.

I think Germany, Brazil and Netherlands should be able to reach the semifinals. For the other countries, it depends, they are not as good. Although France did well.

Ah, yeah, about France...the match against Ecuador was great until the referee gave Valencia a red card for almost no reason. He got tackled decently by a French player and took a red card because he put his knee into his stomach while falling. I mean, how would you be able to control your movements while being tackled? That's insane. Even a yellow card for this would have been harsh.

I'm French, and I'm sad for Ecuador, they deserved better than this. Even if France didn't play to their best, Ecuador was playing super well, match was even, and there was a lot of engagement without players faking or big faults. The match was gone after this decision. This referee sucks, he threw this entire match with a very unfair choice.
Yes, we finished first of our group. But I didn't like this match at all.

True that, but I really find so sad how they manipulated the first match of the World Cup, although Portugal also did lots of mistakes. What Portugal should improve is avoiding opening holes in their own team, even the Americans noticed it. How I miss the Euro 2004.

There are things over there that I had no knowledge but it is really sad to read that article. Football is more important for the Brazilian government. For the stadiums story, it happened the same thing back in 2004. We built new stadiums for the Euro and nowadays they are worth nothing. Nobody is using them.

Last night's USA vs Belgium match was one of the best so far in my opinion. Not gonna lie, I really was rooting for the US to get back into the game at the end.
