Sometimes, cheaper ones on eBay can be found, hopefully you can get one there at least, Gwee.

I started playing Paper Mario 2: TTYD yesterday and I'm enjoying it. It's not great, and the writing is a bit irritating at times. The tunes are also not as recognizable/awesome as in the first game (although I love the main battle theme!). But the puzzles and secrets are pretty awesome, and I like that. Overall it's not as awesome as Paper Mario 1 was so far, but I still like it!
Re: What games are you currently playing?
I love both TTYD and First one (I like to call first one "Paper Mario Story" due to Japanese title being just "Mario Story"
)

I've been practicing Rayman 1 a bit off-camera, and have been playing Earthworm Jim quite a bit, trying to cure my Snot a Problem-ophobia.

I like the first one better as well, though I can't help but find the writing in Thousand Year Door absolutely hysterical, I laugh hard everytiem. How far are you?Drolpiraat wrote:I started playing Paper Mario 2: TTYD yesterday and I'm enjoying it. It's not great, and the writing is a bit irritating at times. Also, the Rogueport theme I think is great, but it's probably the only track (along with the battle theme) that's as memorable as the music in the first.

I started playing Spongebob Squarepants Creature from the Krusty Krab for the Nintendo Gamecube and I am actually surprised it turned out to be a good game. Also Dead or Alive 3 is a very nice game!
Re: What games are you currently playing?
I've been coming back to Mario Kart 7 lately, which I'm slowly starting to pick up some legitimately good skill with. Mario Kart 8's also been fun as hell, but I can't deny I kinda miss the competitive play from Wii sometimes.
Huh, I actually find TTYD one of my favourite games in the Mario series, though I haven't played the original so I can't compare. Unlike most Mario games, the world feels very alive, connected, and a million times more imaginative than Super Paper Mario and Sticker Star. Sticker Star, for example, feels so dull to me because everything is so plain. Simple toads in a simple town as the main area of the game. But I'm surprised you don't like the music as much: It's very nicely stylised and I've got some big favourites like the great boggly tree or the train station at dusk.Drolpiraat wrote:I started playing Paper Mario 2: TTYD yesterday and I'm enjoying it. Re: What games are you currently playing?
Don't get me wrong - it's definitely a lot more fun than all the other Mario games I've played - except for the original Paper Mario. Same for the music, I like it but in comparison to the music of the first game, it's really not as catchy.Keane wrote:Huh, I actually find TTYD one of my favourite games in the Mario series, though I haven't played the original so I can't compare. Anyway, I'm in the Great Boggly Tree at the moment, taking 101 Punies to the second crystal star.
Apart from Paper Mario 2, I'm playing NieR. And The Witcher. And the Elder Scrolls Online, with a friend. Damn, how am I ever going to get things done this holiday?

Just 100%ed Rayman 3D. An unsatisfying, easy feat but still a fun game.

Had this problem for a while with my original 3DS, you could use air compressor in it because it may be dusty in there.Bradandez wrote:My darn R button doesn't do anything when pressed.

Re: What games are you currently playing?
I got Dark Souls during the Summer Sales, and finally decided to play it. Hooked up my controller and loaded up the game, only to be met with two errors: one spouting compatibility nonsense with Games for Windows Live and the other saying my install had failed. 45 minutes later, after an ordeal of setting compatibility with different Windows versions, downloading seperate versions of Games for Windows Live and setting up accounts, I got into the game. Now my computer isn't the best, but it's decent and I assumed that I would be able to run Dark Souls even on low settings. What I didn't expect was a piss-poor settings menu bundled with a resolution slider that did shit all. Loading into the actual game, I was met with 25fps and upon trying to change it, my game crashed.
Now I'm in the process of downloading DSfix which will hopefully solve my issues so I can finally play this game. Thing is, I should not have had to do all this. If it takes the consumer 45 minutes to even get your game running then you have a major problem with your port, and if you care even a little about your community you should at least attempt to fix it. Here's hoping DSfix solves my problems..

I'm currently playing Crash Bandicoot 2: N-Tranced for the first time. It's pretty good so far, if a little frustrating at times.

Now playing Crash Bandicoot 3 on my REAL PSone

I've been playing some Skyrim on PC. I want to get into modding it soon though.

Man, do I envy you. Skyrim modding is one of the major reasons I want to get into the PC gaming space, have fun!sonicbrawler182 wrote:I've been playing some Skyrim on PC. I want to get into modding it soon though.

Re: What games are you currently playing?
I've been having an issue though, since I started trying to mod it. I keep getting a border even though I have it set to fullscreen, which started while I was trying to get some mods working (I was originally getting CTDs due to not knowing the mod loading order).Master wrote:Man, do I envy you. Kind of irritating, but I'll fix it sometime soon. Mods are honestly the primary reason I'm interested in playing Skyrim to begin with.

Re: What games are you currently playing?
Well I finally got Dark Souls working last night and after playing it a bit, I can say that it's very enjoyable. The learning curve is very steep indeed, but I've yet to hit a brick wall of difficulty. They've scaled it pretty well, giving you the bare basics for survival and combat and then letting you figure out the rest. It's a nice change from the average hold your hand experience. Dying in Dark Souls gives you that 'One more try' feeling rather than frustrating you into giving up. That's because the game provides you with the necessary tools to complete the area, it's up to your skills whether you pass it or not. It doesn't feel unfair is what I'm getting at. All in all it's been fantastic so far.
