So why isn't this implemented yet?Adsolution wrote:Optimum loads the music from the 'Music' folder in the install directory, so it would likely just involve telling each level which .tra file to load.

Re: Rayman Optimum
Well TRAs just correspond to CD-Audio tracks, so unless there was some kind of thingy that would be able to figure out what level is loaded and change what TRA is mounted as what track, I don't see how that could possibly be done. I imagine the DOSBox source would have to be modified?

Not in DOSBox, but in the game itself.PluMGMK wrote:Well TRAs just correspond to CD-Audio tracks, so unless there was some kind of thingy that would be able to figure out what level is loaded and change what TRA is mounted as what track, I don't see how that could possibly be done. Re: Rayman Optimum
Well, maybe not that much, but a significant amount of time. And it would suprise me if there was only one bit to change.

Re: Rayman Optimum
Wait, so if this was possible, does this mean that the sountrack can be modified to play the PSX soundtrack with each level having diffirent tracks? Because unfortunately the PC soundtrack starts with the same music for every level in each worlds which kinda ruins the gameplay
Re: Rayman Optimum
Depends, we talk to say nothing....
Maybe the information about how the music is organized is even not in Rayman binaries but in .tra headers, or maybe each of these .tra is not a music but a compilation of voices and sounds and part of music, with implicit reference between these... We really can't tell you that -at least I can't, because I never looked into these files.
But feel free to do this

As far as I know, TRA files are compressed with OGG Vorbis technology.LoveMetal wrote:Depends, we talk to say nothing....

Re: Rayman Optimum
TRAs are just ripped music files. The CUE file tells DOSBox what TRA is what CD audio track. The game uses CD audio.
Re: Rayman Optimum
I don't see a CUE file in Optimum's Music folder.PluMGMK wrote:TRAs are just ripped music files. The CUE file tells DOSBox what TRA is what CD audio track. The game uses CD audio.

Re: Rayman Optimum
I don't know if it's a CUE file or a TOC file, but I'll go check.
Re: Rayman Optimum
It's a .CUE file, just with the extension changed to .tra.

Re: Rayman Optimum
Ah thanks, I got a bit worried that something huge had been done when I couldn't find it.

Only RA00.tra is a CUE file:RibShark wrote:It's a .CUE file, just with the extension changed to .tra.
RA01-RA25.tra just show garbage.

Re: Rayman Optimum
It's already been explained that they're Ogg Vorbis files (except RA01, which is a BIN file).

Re: Rayman Optimum
Well you don't say. I am very well informed about everything how Rayman Optimum works,... maybe perhaps I am the one who created all these files.PluMGMK wrote:It's already been explained that they're Ogg Vorbis files (except RA01, which is a BIN file).
