No, not yet. I'm currently working on more environmental assets and waiting for Adsolution to take a look at an experimental one I've just finished using Sculptris. Globox sounds like a fun one to model/texture. When we start working on more characters, I shall accept this challenge.

Re: Rayman: Revenge of the Dark
Yeah, I'm going to see if I can overlay some kind of a lens flare effect to them so that they feel more textured. I'll also play with some various other shaders.Drolpiraat wrote:My only criticism would be the look of the Lums - they look as if they are glass spheres with a bit of light coming out of them. I know the intention was to recreate the Lums in the R3 videos, but those have "texture" inside and the light effects in and around the Lums made them seem a lot more full. The R3 team also made the smart decision of always blurring the area the Lums are in, so we wouldn't see the edges too clearly.

Just found out about the update, and I really like the young Ly you've created! It's amazing how far you and the ROTD members have come in making this game a reality.

Re: Rayman: Revenge of the Dark
Thanks Daht!
Also, lums update! I decided to scrap the Rayman 3 intro concept and go full-on 'light'. Even the wings are made of volume light:

And there are those lensflares too, as you can see. The two outer spheres on the lum are geometry (volume light), but the little white core is a lensflare now. Before the white core was part of the inner-sphere's shader.
Also, since I know a few people were curious about their 'pale' appearance, here's what the scene looks like with full saturation:

For note, even though the more saturated version does look spicy in a certain way, it is not up for recommendation. The amount of desaturation I've applied normally conjures just the correct atmosphere.

Well as you know, I'd love to help you in any way I can! <3Drolpiraat wrote:reambound is never even going to come close to that with my 3D skills!

With Ad's approval I present the first cliff model!
A better texture will be added in the future. We used this model as a test to see how it would look in-engine. I still have many more rocks/formations to create.

Re: Rayman: Revenge of the Dark
The redesigned Lums look fantastic, and that cliff texture is really cool! The desaturation on the Lums picture also looks a lot better now, I can see what you were going for.
Re: Rayman: Revenge of the Dark
As everybody already said it, the lums are far better like this. The lens flare effect is perfect for this : it gives lums more consistence without sacrificing their light-weight thingy appearence. The way you played with saturation to augment their color is also very good. Now I guess you found the correct settings for the lums to look fine. Congratz'!
@Spanex : the cliff texture looks good. Can you add things like fissures in it? Hmm I guess in that case you will have to modify the 3D model and not the texture itself, my bad...anyway, great job too !
(is Rayman doing the mime on the second picture or what?

The Lums look absolutely wondertastic. I'm getting kind of nostalgic just looking at 'em.

Seriously though, even Daggerfall makes me nostalgic.
