I have never been to Canada!
Another thing that saddens me
Do they really live up to the niceness? Now that is awesome. I hope the States is just as friendly.

Re: The 'I Have Never' Game
Coming from a stoic/rude (depending on your point of view
) place as the Netherlands, the people of Canada are crazy nice. Just as an example, when people here in cars stop and wait for you to cross the road (which is 80% of the people almost immediately as opposed to the Dutch 40%), they give you so much space by waiting on the far side of the road as opposed to stopping right next to your feet that it feels like they're doing it because they want to let you pass, instead of because you were in the way and they had to let you cross.
Now I'm not saying that's actually what's going on in the Dutchman's mind, but it's just how some people's actions come across as when comparing.
Funny contrast though: in Holland it's more likely to get a greeting from people walking past you on the street.

Re: The 'I Have Never' Game
I think this is moreso a culture/how you learn thing, because we're taught to leave loads of space like that. I've found we are, compared to the US, a bit more polite in general when it comes to driving though.Shrooblord wrote:Coming from a stoic/rude (depending on your point of view) place as the Netherlands, the people of Canada are crazy nice. It's been said before not to make dumb 'I Have Never's, it's against the rules.DandyGuy wrote:I never had a billion Euros.

Oh, yes, absolutely. And I'm enjoying the culture loads! Of course, it will probably have its own downsides, but I haven't spotted those yet.Adsolution wrote:I think this is moreso a culture/how you learn thing, because we're taught to leave loads of space like that.
