I wanna take a screenshot of it, but they screenshot key in the Sims 2 doesn't capture the the tabs that display the sims' info, and pressing the laptop's screenshot key doesn't screenshot the game but rather the windows open beneath it.

Have you tried print screen and pasting into paint? I think you need to be in windowed for that.

I don't know how to get Sims 2 into windowed mode. I press the start button to minimize the game and paste the screenshot into paint, but it only screenshotted the desktop, as if the game was never there.

Hmm I haven't played Sims 2 in a while so I can't help with getting it windowed. Maybe there's an external program you can get to help with that?
