Hmmm, this makes me think that I always loved the amazing scenic backgrounds from Rayman 1, because they always make the viewer getting a feel for wanderlust, a sense of being somewhere in this majestic looking world in one of the shown faraway places. Especially this particularly background from the Blue Mountains is a good example for that:

Would be cool to see some levels based on some of the scenic backgrounds. By the way: Is there an archive (like in the Wiki) something out there with all the collected level backgrounds? Ah, the good old nostalgia is arriving...

I agree. It's a very atmospheric game, and the world feels huge, despite it being a 2D platformer.
I kinda got the same feeling from Origins, but not to the same extent. Maybe it's nostalgia!

Hmmm, maybe something like Candy Ltd....? Well, as for me I think there are enough Rayman levels with this theme out there (like in Origins or Legends for example) and I think the game shouldn't be overwhelmed with levels based on ideas which are already used extensively in prior games. But I have to admit, I like the concept of Candy Ltd. some kind of... Hm, maybe a short re-visitation of the dome/castle where the battle between Mr Dark and Rayman occurs in the beginning of the game...?

Well, one of my favorites is the World Tree, but I also feel that it would fit more into a Rayman 2.5 rather than in 1.5, because we already have the amazing Temporal Palace as some kind of mysterious "world weaver" or "world connector", yet with another thematic atmosphere (structures of existence, time, fourth dimension, mythological symbols and all that cool kind of stuff).

Picture City in 3D made me cry. I'm sure that Candy Chateau would be just nice to have a 3D look at!

Absolutely. It really feels like an in-depth-universe and like a living magical world. The backgrounds of Origins and Legends are great (in fact they are fucking amazing!), but for me they can't top the amazing atmospheric backgrounds of Rayman 1. They just don't give me the chills from the past days... Maybe it's my nostalgia-view which doesn't let me see further, but for me the backgrounds of the original are the nonplusultra.

Definitely this! For me it was the 3D recreation of Band Land.
