I am not trying to imply that you have done anything horrible. All I want is a simple fair's fair and we're done with this stupid argument. I don't want to be on bad terms with anyone and I'm just trying to, as I've said numerous times end this.

EDIT: There goes that post I was replying to, it disappeared.

Point taken, it's a good place to end it. It's pointless to continue anyway, and at least I'm not being accused of anything else at this point.

And before anyone else tries to paint me as the bad guy in this scenario, just take a look at this post:
beebo44 wrote:Honestly I don't even fucking care anymore tech I can't be bothered to dissect your post and make an argument because it's pointless. Think what you want about me, even if it's completely incorrect and you're making assumptions on someone you don't know. I really couldn't fucking care less at this point because you're just proving that you're being an arrogant and pretentious asshole. You are the one not acting maturely and I refuse to hold a conversation with someone like you.
On top of the blatant hypocrisy, there are blatant insults strung together in there as well, and I don't think I'm at all wrong in not ending the argument on this note.

Yes and then after that I admitted that I made mistakes. I'm sorry for any insults I have given you unjustly tech. I did not intend to pick a fight and I hate that this is what we're at now.

EDIT: Fifo locking the thread will just leave me and tech with ill tempered feelings towards each other. I want to solve that issue and locking the thread won't help.

Eh, it's fine now, I suppose. Sorry if I was a bit hostile at certain point; I got in kind of a foul mood as the argument progressed, so that reflected a bit in my posts.

Quick note about me: I'm fairly blunt in how I approach discussions, since I feel that it's often dumb to spin you're words around to make what you're saying sound more polite when you're saying the same fucking thing anyway. I think you may have thought I was trying to be rude to you and/or Bradandez, but that really wasn't the case.

Thanks, I understand that it was largely my fault that it got to be that way, but I'm glad we could move on from this.

In other news, I've been playing Rayman 1 a bit through the Optimum version and I have to say I am way out of practice. Recent games have softened me up too much, I was unprepared for the harsh Rayman 1 onslaught.

I think I have a decent idea based on your reply to THEdragon, but it would be interesting if you expanded upon in further detail.

A personal gripe I have with it as a player of decent skill is the really shit and unreliable momentum, which often causes you to move at abnormally fast speeds (particularly when jumping off a slippery platform), nearly all of my deaths in the game somehow stemming from it. Otherwise, the mechanics are fine to me, though. The level design can also be a bit bitchy at times, the worst offenders being the fifth stage of Bongo Hills, the first stage of Eraser Plains, all of Crystal Palace (but particularly the first stage), and the final stage of Eat at Joe's.

And if anyone's interested, once I master the aforementioned parts of the game, I should be able to easily record the no death run! :D Should be out in a few days.

Man I'm getting nightmares just thinking about the last Eat at Joe's stage. So much pain has stemmed from there Dx

I agree, I love the first part of Allegro Presto but the end part of it is nightmarish. :confus: Or at least I'm guessing Allergro Presto is the level I'm thinking of.

There's strats for speedrunning that make the level quite a bit easier, but if you don't know those, it fucking sucks.

And, ah, yes, the second to last stage of Allegro Presto is also a pain, but it's manageable (in that I usually don't die on it) for me as long as I'm not speedrunning.

Yea I can't say I'm a Rayman 1 pro so for me it sucks. Would love to hear about some of these strats, but I'm sure I'll see them in the aforementioned no death speedrun. :D

Nay, it's not a speedrun, but a longplay; it's nearly impossible to do a speedrun with no intentional deaths, and even then, there's still intentional deaths. I also am approaching it more the way I would a walkthrough (albeit a very good one), getting all the 1ups and powerups 'n' shit. Adsolution's also planning a segmented no damage run to best my ass as well (but he hasn't attempted it yet as he's too homosexual).

Anyways, here's that shit I was talking about, courtesy of the lovely dot_flac.

Ah okay, doesn't look like I would be *too* hard to pull off but I can imagine it taking a lot of practice.

The damage boost strats make the level a lot easier, actually, and the video all shows you all the stuff you can skip just by running and helicoptering.

I'll definitely have to look at the whole thing later, it looks like it'll provide me with a couple of strategies for the harder parts of R1.

Well in all honesty I would like to hear what you have to say if you are willing to go into a full analysis. Besides, your opinion of Rayman 1 can't be worse than my opinion Rayman 2's continual porting :P (I really hate how buggy revolution was and the GBC, DS, and iOS versions are utter horseshit).

But getting back to topic, I would like to hear all your -and anyone else's- feelings on the game, and if ya wan't I'll give my opinion also.
