Ideology and International Economy: Tings, Lums and Freedom
Some of you asked about the value of a TNG/LUM Forex pair, about how are these moneys handled by the government, and what are the economical solutions we tend to use in the high spheres of the administration.
Actually this is pretty simple.
On a hand you have got lums, a currency that worth a lot (at least it was worth) because it is a commodity money, so we use it with knowledge that it is a finite resource, and so more we are trying to find and extract it, more costly it is. Then we could predict a perpetual drop of Price Index, punctuated by small crashes. But hell no, because when Rayman Origins was out, we found out load of new lums. Of course it has been followed by a total loss of confidence of the shareholders for this currency (especially in the Laser-Washing Powder sector). You can easily imagine what happened: a huge inflation. Then we apprehended a lot when Rayman Legends came out. All of our economists predicted different results. Some of them predicted the worst, a huge crash due to a complete loss of confidence in the currency, accentuated by the premeditation and the déjà-vu syndrome; the other predicated an anticipation of the inflation, and so braked results.
The second category was right. The lums were devalued of only 13%, against 86% for the first crash. Hopefully, because at the administration, protectionists and other statists dickheads began to shout and advice some dirty interventionists solutions.
And on the other hand you've got tings. This one can be much more compared to Fiat money, except that it isn't regulated by RPC government on Forex and that tings use a floating exchange rate, but we will not dive into these details for now. Just tell you that the RPC gov still has a work on it, but it is quite limited though. Actually, applying the Quantitative theory of money, we increase the mass of money in circulation up to 3.1261% each year, on a monthly progression. Back in old days, when the lum was a strong currency, currency was on a Laissez-faire approach (the only one exception was a huge Austerity policy back in 00's).
Currently, the pair of tings/lums on forex have an average value of:
TNG/LUM = 0.786

Re: Ideology and International Economy: Tings, Lums and Freedom
And what of our freedom! It seems we are all Tingslaves - collecting as many as we can, as often as we can, participating in such events such as the "Day of the Record" to gather up as many Tings as we can. And for what? So that all our effort into gaining these Tings can go to waste on the exchange rate to the valuta that is our knowledge, life energy and breath itself?
Nay I say! We must liberate the currencies and abolish the leaderships of old. No more Ting whores; we become Lum fanatics and screw conversion rates and economy theorists in one go.

You know, I have been fantasising for a while about crashing the world economy by hyping up a fake crypto-currency backed only by Tings on this forum!DandyGuy wrote:So is this going to be a crypto type currency? I said I was fantasising, I didn't say I would do it!
Besides, crypto-currencies won't take off anyway. If they did though, Human Stupidity would make such a plan child's play to pull off…

Good question. I think it's declining in popularity, I'm not sure.

I wish there were a way to convert Legends lums into Tings on the forum.

"BUMP."
So, when will this very important feature be implemented? We can clearly get our Jewel Tings from Rayman 3's Hall of Fame, so why not these, is this Legends Lums discrimination!?

The Legends Lums to RaymanPC Tings converter? Given how easy it is to cheat on Legends, I think it's for the best that we leave that idea to rot…
Though that does remind me of the other idea to host unofficial challenge servers, which I think should be theoretically possible
